Hi First name / friend!

I wish I could stop saying this, but it’s not looking like that’ll happen anytime soon, so…

The world feels heavy right now.

And it can take a real toll on us business owners.

You’re constantly second-guessing what you should be talking about right now. What you should be doing. If you should be focusing on business or something else entirely.

So, give yourself permission to take a break if you need it.

Take care of you and protect your mental health – which is basically a non-negotiable these days.

On that note, I’ll share some of how I’m prioritizing me right now.

I hope it helps spark some ideas you can use!

ADVICE I'M LIVING BY
If you try a productivity tip...and surprise! It works to free up some of your time…resist the urge to fill that time with more work. You’re allowed to just be.
Intentionally Uplugging
You may have noticed I’ve been exploring this concept for awhile, so I’m really leaning into how to relieve some of the angst I’ve been feeling online lately.

These are a few of my favorite “unplugged” activities:
READING ACTUAL BOOKS
  • Maybe you just start with one, or maybe you choose your favorite author and read their entire body of work! My current pick is Jodi Picoult – I’m making my way through her novels one library visit at a time.
  • One of the best tips I ever got was to check upcoming movie and TV releases you're interested in and read those book(s) first.
LEARNING THINGS WITH NO END GOAL
  • I love the idea of learning something for the literal sake of learning, which is what I’m doing right now with chess! I used to play as a kid, and I’m teaching myself again as an adult, for no reason other than I wish I still knew how.
  • I grew up in an evangelical Christian home and recently started exploring the history of religion. It’s truly fascinating!
PICK A NEW TOPIC AND GO ALL IN
  • This might be something new, something with no purpose, or something that you want to do for work/personal advancement.
  • I’ve always been really interested in personality science so I’ve been diving deep into the Enneagram.
  • I also recently worked with an incredible coach on a Business Astrology reading to learn more about myself and how to use my strengths to drive my brand!

Fav Self-Care Stuff Right Now
Here are some of my current self-care obsessions I love sharing with people
  • Kate Mcleod Daily Pebble Solid Bath and Shower Oil: This is described as a totally “luxurious, spa-like experience, that’s so easy to add to showers on busy mornings or luxurious bedtime baths,” and I have to agree.
  • “Good Good Good” physical newspaper: My subscription to this old school physical newspaper is like a warm hug every time I read it!
  • Pull a Happiness Card: Each card has a task or treat on it that’s meant to boost your mood. Some of them are little things that you’ve probably avoided and will love checking off your to-do list in a matter of minutes!
Daily wellness habits that make me feel so much better:
  • Eating (1) piece of fruit daily
  • Drinking my nightstand water as soon as I get up
  • Having a glass of warm lemon water with a splash of Happy Light
  • Doing 8-push ups before bed as my bare minimum physical movement for the day
Get a High-Yield Savings Account: Because you’ll feel so much better knowing you’re thinking about future-you, too!

Fun Yearly Intentions
There’s no timeline on any of these, but here are a few intentions I set for myself in 2026:
  • Take an online Spanish class
  • Take an online Theology class
  • Celebrate my 35th birthday in July
  • Read 3 Memoirs
  • Buy more flowers
So those are the things I’m doing to take care of myself and be more mindful of the way I spend my time as things continue to feel more and more dystopian around us.

If you’re in a sharing mood, I’d love if you hit reply and shared your own tips as well.
A “just for fun” intention: get my nails done for the Holidays!

So far I've done Valentine's Day and Easter, and I'm most excited for 4th of July and Christmas!
