Steps Toward Success
Our youth recently attended the Hamilton County Teen Job Fair, where they had the opportunity to explore career paths, connect with employers, and take important steps toward independence. We’re proud to share that three of our residents secured employment, marking a major milestone in their personal and professional growth.
In addition to these achievements, residents and staff enjoyed a fun and engaging night out at Dave & Buster’s. The outing provided a great opportunity to relax, build stronger relationships, and create lasting memories in a positive and supportive environment.
These experiences reflect our ongoing commitment to helping our residents grow, connect, and succeed both inside and outside of the home.

resident tip of the month
 Cooking skills are life
Learning independent cooking skills is an essential step toward self-reliance and responsibility at Legacy Residential Homes.
Developing the ability to prepare meals not only ensures residents can care for their nutritional needs, but also helps build confidence, decision-making skills, and independence in daily life.
Five (5) Steps to Cooking Success:
  1. Practice knife safety — always handle knives with care, use proper cutting techniques, and keep fingers protected while preparing ingredients.
  2. Understand heat levels — learning how different temperatures affect food helps prevent undercooking or burning meals.
  3. Prepare ingredients properly — washing, measuring, and organizing ingredients before cooking leads to better results and safer practices.
  4. Follow food safety guidelines — keep surfaces clean, separate raw and cooked foods, and store ingredients properly to avoid contamination.
  5. Measure accurately — using the correct portions ensures meals turn out consistent and balanced every time.
By practicing these steps, residents build confidence, independence, and the skills needed to maintain a healthy and self-sufficient lifestyle.
