I sat down to write this email this morning…
and immediately opened three other tabs.
Checked my calendar.
Answered a message.
Clicked into something I didn’t even mean to open.

And then just sat there for a second like “wait… what was I about to do?”
Nothing was wrong.
But nothing felt clear enough to start either.
And for a second, I almost didn’t send this at all.
Not because I didn’t have anything to say.
But because my brain was already mid-task on five different things
before I even began.

That’s the part no one really talks about.
Not the “I have too much to do” feeling.
The “why does everything feel weirdly hard to start? feeling.

Where even something simple (feel free to laugh — like writing an email I’ve written a hundred times) suddenly feels like it requires a full mental warm-up.

There’s a reason that happens. And it’s not motivation.
It’s that nothing has a clear place to land yet.
So everything just sits there… open.
Pulling at you a little.

Which is exactly how I ended up rewriting the beginning of this email three times before I finally stopped and did this instead:
  • brain dump
  • calendar check
  • close the tabs
  • playlist on
  • one thing
That’s it. Not a full reset. Not a new routine.

Just something that gives your brain a starting point that actually exists.

And once I did that? This got written in about 10 minutes.

By the way, if this email feels a little different, it’s because it is.

I’ve been quietly reworking Work Less Weekly to feel less like “tips you should follow” and more like the actual behind-the-scenes of how things get easier.

Because most of the time, it’s not that you need to do more.
It’s that things were never set up in a way
that made them easy to begin in the first place.

Speaking of things feeling harder than they should…

I posted something this week that’s basically a look at how I think about marketing when I’m inside someone’s business.

It’s: “If I were running your marketing this month… here’s what I’d do.”

But instead of vague advice, I broke it down with actual examples —
different businesses, different offers, different directions.

Because there isn’t one strategy that works for everyone.
What makes sense for one business would completely fall flat for another. And that’s usually the missing piece.

If you want to see how that looks across different scenarios..

And if you read it and start thinking about your own business…

just reply to this email.

We can talk through what this could look like for you.
No pressure, no weird pitch, just a conversation.

To working less + living more,
Kelly
