It’s been another encouraging week with some meaningful progress both inside and outside the building. Here’s a quick look at what’s been happening:
What’s Been Happening
Our Saturday work day was a great success! About 20 people came throughout the morning and made major progress clearing ivy and overgrown bushes from around the house. Even our new neighbors have noticed the difference. There’s still more to do, but this was a huge step forward. Brenda and Joyce also spent hours weeding the garden beds in front of the sanctuary and are beginning to think ahead about what those spaces could become.
While Delran was replacing light bulbs in the sanctuary, it became clear the fixtures themselves needed to be replaced. With scaffolding already in place, this was the right time to address it. We’ve found a great replacement, and Jerry Clement has begun installing the new fixtures as time allows. This will not only improve lighting but also serve us well for years to come.
Drywall in the fellowship hall is nearly complete. Our painting team will jump in next to begin painting before the ceiling grid and flooring are installed. The painting team continues to do incredible work throughout the building—bringing a fresh, clean feel to each space. It’s amazing what a few coats of paint can do!
Carpentry work on the stage is moving along well. The floor has been insulated, plywood is down, and the front steps should be completed by the end of the week.
A Moment of Gratitude
As we continue in our fundraising, we wanted to pause and say thank you. Even in weeks without major updates, what stands out most is the steady, faithful response from our church family. Many of you have given generously—both financially and through your time—and it’s been deeply encouraging to see. This season is about more than a building; it’s about what God is forming in us as a people. We’re grateful to be walking this together and will continue to share updates as they come.
Looking Ahead
Our projected first Sunday in the new building is June 7th, though we’re remaining flexible as we continue to navigate the final steps needed to get there.
Our next work day is Saturday, April 25th | 9:00am–1:00pm. We’d love to have you join us as we continue making progress together.
Thanks for continuing to be part of this process with us!
