Did you notice the new addition by the front doors of CEL?  In late March, our Book Nook arrived!  It has been stocked, and will be in use soon!  

 

Staff will be giving students tickets to get a book when they "Run with the HERD," accomplish a goal, spread kindness, or demonstrate some other good deed.

 

Please note:  the machine only accepts tokens made especially for the Book Nook.  There will be no money involved, and they cannot be purchased - students will get a book when they earn a ticket, which they will then bring to the office to get a token and then make their selection!

 

How did this purchase happen? Through Scholastic Dollars! With every Book Fair purchase, the Scholastic Dollars accrue, which can then be used to purchase books and other items from Scholastic--including this Book Nook!  The PTO has been saving for the past few years with the goal to purchase a Book Nook, and we are so excited we were able to get it this year!  Thank you for your support at the Book Fair! Continued support at Book Fairs will allow us to purchase more books and restock the Book Nook as needed.

Staff Appreciation Week this year is May 4-8. We have been working with CEL office staff to support an amazing week for our staff, and we need help with a few things to complete the plans!  Please click the graphic above to check out the SignUp Genius.

It's hard to believe it's time to elect next year's board.   All positions are elected in May for the next school year.  

 

Interested in getting more involved in planning events or helping support our students and staff as much as possible?  There are so many positions available for all interests and experience. You do not need to join the board to help out!

Want to help but not ready to join the board? We will have opportunities all year long, from brainstorming ideas to making phone calls, setting up events to planning all the details, help is always needed!  It can be a one time thing for a particular event or dedicating an hour or two a month, with lots of other options too--whatever works for you and your schedule!

We are so excited that Winnie will soon be joining our CEL Family!  She has been in the building training, getting familiar with the school and staff, and staff and students have been getting some training too!  We are so thankful to have her joining us soon, and for all the donations to make that happen so quickly.  

 

There are periodic expenses with having a comfort dog at the school--a new collar or leash, a new toy for her birthday, treats, grooming, vet care, etc. Donations can be made at anytime to help with these costs.  Click her picture above for the link!
