We're bringing together physicians and medical trainees who refuse to stay silent when their patients need them most. Advocates from across the country will converge in the nation's capital to mobilize around pressing health policy issues, sharpen their advocacy skills, and build the networks that drive real change. This is where the next generation of physician advocates shows up.

Prescription drug shortages in the United States are increasingly affecting patient care and clinical decision-making. This session will equip medical professionals with a practical understanding of the structural, economic, and regulatory drivers behind these shortages.

Participants will review current and emerging federal policy approaches to prevention and response, with a focus on real-world clinical impact. The session will also highlight actionable ways clinicians can engage—through reporting, preparedness, and advocacy—to help strengthen the resilience of the medication supply.

Every day, physicians, trainees, and advocates across the country are stepping up, speaking out, organizing, and fighting to put patients over politics. The DFA Founders Awards honor this work and the shared legacy of the National Physicians Alliance and Doctors for America, grounded in the belief that everyone deserves equitable, high-quality, and affordable health care.

DFA's National Leadership Conference Advocacy Training Award offers select individuals $500-$1,000 to help make the National Leadership Conference a reality. The scholarship will be given to the individual at the conference via Zelle or a paper check.
