A Weekly Bouquet of Inspiration
Hello friend,

My heart is heavy this week watching the wildfires devastate South Georgia. With mandatory evacuations underway and a state of emergency across 91 counties, so many of our neighbors are hurting. If you're in an affected area, you're in my thoughts.

And it's not just Georgia, much of the country is struggling with dry conditions right now. Large stretches of the Southeast, Plains, and West are under drought, and gardeners everywhere are feeling it. We got a small shower here, but nowhere near enough. With 98% of Georgia in drought, we're all praying for soaking rains for the firefighters, the displaced families, and the land itself.

A few ways to help right now: follow your local burn ban, water deeply at the roots (early morning is best), and consider supporting local relief efforts for displaced families.

This week's tips are built for exactly these conditions. Deer pressure rises during drought as wildlife search for food and water, stressed plants are more disease-prone, and mulch becomes your garden's best defense against every lost drop. Plus, there's a free garden plan to create a charming mailbox garden.

And…Surprise! Last-minute plans came together and Tommy and I will be at The Home Depot Garden Center in Acworth (3355 Cobb Pkwy, Acworth, GA 30101) on Saturday, May 2 from 10am–12pm and would love to meet y'all, so please stop by and see us! Details below!

 XOXO,
Carmen
