Today's newsletter is all about BIG ACTION and your role (yes, you!) in it.

It's time for our first big advocacy action: recruit women and allies nationwide to call their Members of Congress on Monday, May 4th and demand they file campaign finance reform legislation.

The fossil fuel and related industries are the reason elected officials are not advancing the transformational policies needed to avoid civilization collapse by 2040. The U.S. needs to transition to a society run on renewable energy, moving using public transportation, eating food based in sustainable agriculture, and refusing to go to war for oil once and for all, to name a few. Without campaign finance reform, we will not see this needed future.

The choice before us is not between optimism and despair. It is between complacency and courage. We can choose to advocate for policies that rapidly reduce greenhouse gas emissions. We can demand campaign finance reforms that protect democracy from capture by polluting industries. Let’s act!
