Hi everyone!

Happy Thursday! I hope you're having a great week. Thank you so much for all your excitement about Bedside Manner! I was a little nervous about revealing this book because it's a detour from hockey (for now!) but I shouldn't have been, because if I know anything about all of you, it's that you're the kindest, most encouraging readers in the business.

Bedside Manner is out Dec 8 and you can pre-order it HERE.

I'm sending this newsletter about 2 weeks too late, but my excuse is that I got home from NY and immediately dove into a bunch of home projects (it's my between-books routine). I started by putting up 3 panels of wallpaper in my office and then hiring someone to finish it. He walked into my office and started shaking his head and muttering oh no to himself. He redid my attempts, it's done now, and looks amazing. Photos to come once I get my new desk chair and install the lighting!!

So, New York! I had such an amazing trip and met so many cool readers! First was Syracuse, where I threw one of the first pitches at the Syracuse Mets game! I stood about 3 ft from the home plate. Kelly from the Lit Actually bookstore did such a great job planning the sports romance event, and I got to hang out with fellow sports authors Rebecca Jenshak and Grace Reilly. Lucky me! I ate two hot dogs and they were so freaking good.

Then I was off to Bookcon in Manhattan, where I met so many of you!! I loved chatting with all of you, hearing about the other authors you were seeing at the conference, and seeing all your cool costumes (my favourite was the guy who dressed up as Baseball Alice from Twilight LOL). I was on the hockey romance panel with Ngozi Ukazu, Rachel Reid, Emily Rath, Kate Cochrane, and Bal Khabra. What a dream!!! I spent most of the panel gazing at my fellow authors, listening to them say all the hilarious, smart things.

I brought ONE book with me to Bookcon - my copy of Haunted by Meg Cabot. I was obsessed with this series. When I was a teenager, my dad took me to a signing of hers in Vancouver. Twenty-five years later, I got to meet her again, show her the picture, and tell her I was an author now. It was a special moment for me, and I'm tearing up just thinking about it!

After Bookcon, I spent a few extra days in NY, hanging out with my good friend (and fellow author) Sophia Travers. Here's me drinking wine (my favourite is lambrusco), but we also dropped in to The Ripped Bodice and saw You, Me, and Tuscany (so good, more on that below).

I hope you all have a fantastic weekend, and happy mother's day to all the moms!

If you haven't seen You, Me, and Tuscany yet, get your butt to a theatre NOW! It's so funny, so romantic, and the music is so good! Halle Bailey is hilarious and charming, Regé-Jean Page is swoon-worthy (Sophia kept whispering he's so hot!!! during the movie), and it feels like a fresh take on the rom-coms we've been wanting more of for years. Same fun antics, great side characters, and heartfelt love story but modernized. I can't wait to watch this again.

Landon
So much for being the golden boy.
Once-fawning press called me the rising star of the NHL. Now they get their rocks off on the viral snap shot of my buck-naked backside mashed up against my penthouse window and between an attention-hungry woman's legs.

Goodbye, post-season winning streak. Goodbye, Stanley Cup. Goodbye, dating - not that I was doing much of that before.

My agent promises to make the rumors disappear by hiring the best lawyer in Ottawa. But Indira Davé's no longer the quiet, gawky goalie I played with in grade seven. She's all confidence and drive-you-insane curves. And that smart mouth of hers has me thinking about a thousand ways I could shut it up. Or have it scream my name.

She doesn’t trust me, but I can't unsee the real Indi. And if she lets me in, I'll never let her go.

Indi
Nope. There's no way I still have that pubescent crush on Landon Radek. So what if he's outrageously good-looking? I won’t fall for his charm or dimpled smile this time.

I'm his lawyer. He's my lying-through-his-teeth client. And I hate him. For reasons I’d rather leave in the past.

A half-bottle of red wine has me blurting a precious secret and Landon comes up with a filthy proposition. If I accept it - BIG if with a capital I - I have strict rules.

Feelings are an absolute no-go. Both of our careers hinge on the utmost discretion. But the more he proves he’s still the boy I adored many years ago, the less control I have over my well-protected heart.

Tropes:
Hockey romcom
Black cat x golden retriever
Estranged childhood friends
Lawyer x client
Secret friends with benefits agreement + no-kissing rule
Boy obsessed

Two truths and a lie:
1. I’m crushing on a faceless por—adult content creator.
2. I’m road-tripping to a wedding with my worst enemy.
3. These are totally unrelated problems.

After torching what was left of my reputation at my twin sister’s engagement party, I’ll do anything for redemption—even if it means traveling for a week in a car with my oldest nemesis: the smug, infuriatingly rich and successful Nico Giannuzzi.

My plan? Keep my head down, survive this sister-mandated road trip, ignore the driver (even if he ruined my entire life), and focus on flirting wi—sorry—ghostwriting the cookbook for the anonymous por—sorry—adult content creator chef whose emails make me smile.

Even if Nico apologizes with my favorite foods.
Even if he defends me in public, cooks for me in private, and looks at me like I’m the next thing on his menu.
Even if he tries to uncover my secrets… and starts to share some of his own.
Getting my act together means not letting Nico under my skin. Or my shirt.

But… why won’t he take his off?
Why does the way he moves in a kitchen seem so familiar?
And why does this man making me laugh over breakfast suddenly feel exactly like the one who’s been lighting up my inbox for months?

The Naked Truth is a sharp, chaotically funny, and emotionally raw enemies-to-lovers romantic comedy about secrets, vulnerability, and what happens when the person under your skin turns out to be the one who really sees you. It features razor-sharp banter, a secret identity (with a mysterious tattoo), a road trip from hell, gratuitous food-science descriptions, and a Brooklyn accent that should come with a warning label. Perfect for readers who want spicy romcoms with real feelings, laugh-out-loud chaos, and just enough tears to hurt in the best way.
