Happy Friday First name / friend! Â
Â
As I reflect on this past week, I’m reminded of how much there is to be thankful for—even in the midst of things that still don’t feel quite right. Life has a way of holding both at the same time, doesn’t it?
Â
This past weekend, in particular, was such a gift. On Saturday evening, my husband and I shared a wonderful dinner with friends from church. It was one of those evenings filled with good food, easy laughter, and meaningful fellowship—the kind that leaves your heart a little fuller. We even learned how to play a new card game called “Hand and Foot”—lots of laughs and a little friendly confusion along the way!
Â
But something truly special happened on Friday that I just have to share.
Â
While my husband was pulling weeds at the church, a young man just happened to walk around where he was. He was actually there for the weekly food distribution (I ❤️ what our church does for the community), but needed a place to walk his dog—and somehow, their paths crossed at just the right moment. They ended up talking for over an hour. The young man shared that he had made some difficult choices that led to some hard situations. My husband listened, encouraged him, and invited him to church on Sunday, giving him his card and asking him to stay in touch.
Â
It felt like one of those moments that was too perfectly timed to be coincidence.
Â
And here’s the amazing part… he came to church on Sunday.
How incredible is that? Since then, they’ve stayed in touch, and he even reached out to let my husband know he couldn’t attend this week because of work—but that he wanted him to know. That simple message meant so much. My heart is so full seeing how something so small can become something so meaningful.
Â
Sunday was also special for us in another way—we completed our second and final class to become official members of the church. It’s a bit overwhelming in the best way. All of these people we’ve been getting to know are now truly family. That sense of belonging is such a gift, and I’m so, so happy.
Â
This weekend, I’ll also be training to help at the “Connect” desk. I’m always willing to serve in whatever way I can. It’s amazing to see how many different people, with different talents, come together to make everything run smoothly. Every person plays a part in keeping the wheel turning.
Â
Even with life’s imperfections, moments like these remind me just how much goodness is all around us.
Â
I hope you’ve found moments this week that filled your heart with joy too.
