I've been rewatching The Bear with my husband.

If you haven't seen the "Napkins" episode in Season 3, I won't spoil it. But there's a moment where Tina, on the worst day she's had in a long time, walks into a restaurant, gets really vulnerable and authentic, and a stranger just... sees her. He offers her something unexpected. And she says yes.

That one yes changed the entire direction of her life.

I keep thinking about that.

Because lately, I've been in a season of saying yes.

It started with red lipstick on a Tuesday.

No occasion. No reason. Just... leading with yes.

Then brighter colors. The outfit that made me smile instead of the boring one. Hair big and curly rather than straightened. My big, fun new glasses. Dancing down a Chicago street with Harry Styles blasting in my AirPods, completely unbothered. (Truly. Zero percent bothered.)

Capturing the blowing of a wispy dandelion on video after leading a journaling session, because it felt like the most honest thing I could do in that moment.

And then, saying yes to a "Romantic Vibes Model Call" from a photographer I'd never met. A solo portrait session themed around romance. It felt like a huge, full-body yes, so I went with it.

I spent a few hours being the subject in a beautiful forest preserve during golden hour. Birds were chirping, and the air was slightly damp from a surprise thunderstorm a few hours earlier. We used fresh flowers in the shoot. I went home with the bouquet afterward, keeping a single bloom in a little mason jar at my desk, to remember the experience by.

THIS is the kind of thing I'm saying yes to now.

It was: An amazingly beautiful and empowering experience.

I felt beautiful. Alive. Free. Whole.

When I'm having fun, I say yes more. I think bigger. Good things don't just feel possible, they feel like they're already coming.

Abundance was never somewhere I had to get to. It was here the whole time. Inside a song I love. A color I almost talked myself out of wearing. On a forest walk with the deer all around.

So I'll ask you…

What's one small thing that brings you genuine joy that you've been talking yourself out of lately?

Reply and tell me.
I promise I'll read every note. 🩷

Take care of yourself,
Carisa

Helping women founders find clarity when their work reaches a turning point

P.S. This Friday, May 1st, I'm co-hosting a small in-person workshop in La Grange — Consistency That Actually Sticks — alongside two wonderful collaborators. It's a hands-on morning or afternoon session for women entrepreneurs who want a simpler, clearer approach to marketing. Strategy, brand, and content — all in one room, limited to a small group. Two time slots available: 10am or 1pm, $111. If that sounds like it's for you, you can grab your spot here.

Check out the gatherings and workshops I’m hosting this season here.
