Over the course of eight festival weeks this spring, more than 8,000 young musicians have taken part in the Vancouver Kiwanis Music Festivals.

 

They’ve stepped onto stages to perform solos, sing in choirs, play in jazz bands and orchestras, collaborate in small ensembles, and share months — sometimes years — of hard work with their community.

 

And behind every performance is something bigger than a mark or a medal.

 

There are teachers giving countless hours to building music programs.
Parents driving to rehearsals and cheering from audiences.

Students learning how to listen, collaborate, lead, recover from mistakes, and keep going.

 

That’s what this festival is really about.

 

 

This year’s Final Concert & Awards feels especially meaningful to us.

 

After several years away, this event has returned in a newly reimagined form — and for the first time ever, fully includes performances and recognition from our Large Ensembles festivals alongside our Solo & Small Ensembles divisions.

 

It feels like an important reminder of what can happen when young musicians are given space to grow, create, and be celebrated publicly.

 

 

Not only for the students performing — but for the broader community that gathers around them and says:

      ⭐️ What you are creating has value.
      ⭐️ What you are learning matters.
      ⭐️ We see you.

Our Silent Auction remains open through May 24, with proceeds supporting the Vancouver Kiwanis Music Festival and helping ensure that opportunities for young musicians continue to thrive in our community.

 

We will have all festival Lost & Found available at the Final Concert, including any unclaimed adjudication sheets and certificates.

 

Please note that unclaimed items will be donated or disposed of after June 7.
