Just a quick email to let you all know we have an event coming up! If you have ever wanted to check out our seed farm, here is your chance. We are hosting a Seed Farm Tour & Seed Processing Demonstration Sunday, June 7th 2026. We will have members from Te Waka Kai Ora o Te Matau a Maui, a group dedicated to Hua Parakore growing practices, and members from the Hawke’s Bay Permaculture Group attending. We have decided to open this event up to all of you as well! What an exciting opportunity, people from different growing backgrounds all dedicated to growing kai in a sustainable way coming together here. I am looking forward to what conversations evolve on the day! Spaces are limited, so don’t delay if you are keen to join us. More details available on the event registration page. We look forward to welcoming some of you here soon. In these uncertain times, it feels more important than ever, the work that we do, growing seeds in Aotearoa, for home gardeners. If you are wanting to take your seed growing to the next level, come along, bring your questions and let’s chat all things seed and food security while we stroll the seeds garden together. |

Broccoli Raab Spring Rapini, Cabbage Chi Hi Li, Silverbeet Fordhook Giant, Spinach Bloomsdale, Corn Salad, Cress Land, Mustard Giant Red, Orach Red, Coriander, and Salad Burnet can all be sown now. We sow lettuces each month to keep in constant supply, now we focus on the cooler season varieties like Winter, Lollo Rossa, Tree, and Speckled. Now is also a good time to get Asian greens like Mizuna, and Tat Soi in, as well as Rocket and Wild Arugula to keep in supply. If these all sounds good, try our Easy Pick Greens Mix! Remember, with all brassicas they are susceptible to the white cabbage butterfly, so to protect from this, we recommend covering your crops while they get established with fine frost cloth, or remove the caterpillars by hand. Of course, there are organic sprays available, but we do not use these. We prefer instead to create a barrier so the butterflies cannot lay their eggs. Problem solved. ❂ ❂ ❂ |

❂ Our Website is where to find the most up to date information on what we have available at all times during the year. We encourage orders through this medium ❂ Of course get in touch if you cannot access our seeds this way. We have a list of our seeds and their descriptions which we can email to you if need be, so please get in touch, if the website does not work for you. ❂ And a reminder that selections of our seeds are also available from our Retail Outlets around the country.
Happy Gardening ~
