“Life Shifts leaving you to ask…What About Me?"

Hi friend,

I didn’t realize how much I’d been holding my breath…until this moment.

We just found out my son was accepted into his top choice school.
One of the hardest universities in the country for mechanical engineering.

But that’s not the part that got me.

He didn’t start on an even playing field.

For five years, we were in therapy four days a week.
Speech. Occupational. Specialists. Constant coordination.

There were so many moments where his future felt uncertain.
That quiet question underneath it all…

Will he find his way?

And watching him open that acceptance?

That moment…

That’s years of showing up when it didn’t come easily.

He didn’t just get in.
He built himself into someone who could.

And it hit me.

Because I see the same thing in so many of you (and myself).

Holding it all together.
Focused on everyone else.

And then life shifts…

Your kids don’t need you in the same way anymore.

And you’re left with this question:

What about me?

This months insight: When Your Life Shifts And You’re Left Asking
“What About Me?”

Yes, our lives are changing in midlife.

Our roles. Our energy. And definitely our bodies.

But underneath all of that…
we’ve changed too.

What we want now is different. What we’ll tolerate is different. What actually matters…is different.

And this is the part no one really talks about.

You’re not stuck because nothing is changing.

You’re stuck because you haven’t fully met this version of yourself yet.

And here is the identity gap that deserves air time.

You know something needs to shift…but you’re not moving.

You’re outgrowing things. Second-guessing yourself. Waiting for that bullet proof plan before you act.

And the longer that goes on, the more it quietly becomes:

“I don’t trust myself to choose.”

That’s the real block.
This is a conversation I’m part of this month…
And honestly…this is coming up everywhere right now
in the women I speak
to every week.
Julie Gordon White, one of the leading voices for women on Menopause, MenoWell, and I are going deep around -  midlife, menopause, and the identity shift no one really prepares you for with practical steps to takeaway.

Not just the symptoms - what’s actually going on underneath, and why so many women hit this phase and think, what is happening to me?

If you’re feeling that…
it might resonate.

How to Take Your Authority Back
(For Real)

So lets get into the meat of what to do:

This isn’t about doing more.
Or figuring everything out.

It’s about coming back to yourself and moving from there.

1. Tell the truth about what you’ve outgrown

Not the softened version.

The real one you’ve been avoiding.
→ “This doesn’t fit anymore (and we aren't talking clothes!)”
→ “I don’t want this version of my life”
→ “I’m staying because it feels safer”

Most women aren’t stuck because they don’t know.

They’re stuck because they haven’t fully admitted it yet.

Clarity starts here.

2. Separate what’s yours and what isn’t

You’ve been the rock for everyone.

So you carry:
→ their stress
→ their expectations
→ their emotions

And we call it responsibility.

Pause and ask:

What is actually mine to carry here?

Then put the rest down. Even temporarily.

This is where your energy comes back.
3. Make one aligned move before you feel ready

Not the big decision.

Just the next honest step.
→ start the conversation
→ set the boundary
→ follow the pull you keep ignoring

And here’s the shift:
Don’t ask, “Is this the right move?”

Ask:

“Does this feel like me?”

Then back yourself.

Because self-trust isn’t built in the big leap.

It’s built in these small, honest moves — over and over again. This is the proof.
