Our recent collaboration with Tappan Collective, a LA-based gallery, was initiated by none other than AI. The owner and founder, Chelsea Neman Nassib, found The Selby House through a ChatGPT search for ‘midcentury furniture dallas' and reached out soon after.

From our first conversations, it felt like an easy alignment. We share a similar point of view and a natural interest in collaborating with people who approach their work in a thoughtful way.

Once we saw the space at the Decorative Arts Center on Hi Line in person and understood how it would be used, the furniture plan and final selections fell into place.

It was important to select pieces that aligned with the overall feel of the exhibition, Wildtype, while also keeping durability in mind should they be used. Tappan hosted two events in the space: a brand dinner and an evening of cocktails celebrating the pop-up + kicking off the Dallas Art Fair.

After three weeks of calling Dallas home and staying just down the street at the Virgin Hotel, Tappan started clearing the walls earlier this week and preparing for the trip back to LA. The collaboration not only brought fresh eyes to our brand and pieces, but also gave a warm welcome to the Tappan team, many of whom were visiting Dallas for the first time..

As the Dallas Art Fair and Art Week continue to grow, more out-of-state vendors are looking to Dallas as a strong spot in the art market. We’re leaving the past few weeks with new friends and connections we’re excited to stay in touch with next time we’re in LA.

Tappan’s permanent gallery is located in West Hollywood - if you’re in the area on your next trip to LA, definitely worth stopping by.
