Diving right in did you see the reports that childhood cancer rates are 38% higher near strawberry pastures, why would this be?

I was digging through the latest EWG Tap Water Database and national health reports, and the data is honestly a bit of a gut punch.

Whether you are on city water or a private well, the chemistry of our region is under massive pressure. We are seeing a national "forever chemical" crisis, specifically a surge in cancer clusters near major industrial hubs and farm land. Recent news has linked these spikes to glyphosate and PFAS-laden pesticides used on industrial farms, like those associated with Driscoll berries, where runoff enters the local water table at an alarming rate.

In Florida, our water is a complex mix. It is not just one source. It is a rotating combination of river water, groundwater, and desalinated seawater.

This cocktail often contains Bromodichloromethane and Arsenic at levels dozens of times higher than recommended health guidelines. Most people think a pitcher filter is enough. The science says otherwise.
REMOVE PESTICIDES AND HERBICIDES FROM YOUR WATER.
This is a molecular security system. While standard filters act like a sponge that eventually gets saturated, AquaTru uses a 4-Stage membrane with pores so microscopic (0.0001 microns) that Arsenic, Glyphosate, and PFAS are physically too large to pass through. It is NSF 58 and P473 certified to physically reject these toxins and flush them away. It acts like a high-pressure security wall, delivering pure water to your tank.
If a full RO system is not in the cards, this is the next best step. It uses Ion Exchange to pull chemicals out like a magnet. One warning for our area: our high mineral content (TDS) can blind these filters quickly. If you go this route, you must be extremely diligent about filter replacements to prevent contaminant breakthrough where toxins end up back in your glass. 👉 [Shop the Clearly Filtered Pitcher]
The Remineralization Myth: Don't fall for the "Dead Water" Pitch
You will often see headlines or salespeople claiming that Reverse Osmosis creates "dead water" and that remineralization is impossible unless you buy a $5,000 ionizer machine. This is a marketing tactic designed to sell expensive equipment.

The science is simple. Remineralization is a basic chemical process. You do not need a machine to do it. You can easily add essential minerals back into your RO water using high-quality trace mineral drops or by using an RO system that includes a dedicated mineral stage filter, Aqua Tru. You get the security of the RO membrane with the electrolyte benefits of spring water.

ORGANIC PRODUCE AND CLEAN WATER IS THE BEST WAY TO PROTECT YOUR CHILDREN FROM PESTICIDE, HERBICIDES, AND HEAVY METALS, I AM A BROKEN RECORD. EVEN WITH ORGANIC PRODUCE WE NEED TO PROPERLY CLEAN.
Normally, water and soap just slide off the waxy coatings and chemicals on your fruit. Ozone (O3) is different because it is highly reactive. Here is the simple version of how it works:

Pesticides and herbicides are held together by specific chemical "links." Ozone is like a pair of scissors that targets those links. When the ozone bubbles touch the chemicals, they break those links apart. Once the chemical structure is broken, the pesticide is no longer toxic. It basically turns into harmless dust or gas and floats away.

The wax on apples or cucumbers acts like a glue for dirt and chemicals. Ozone attacks the surface of the wax, breaking its "grip" on the fruit. This makes the wax brittle so it can be easily rinsed off, taking the trapped gunk with it.

Ozone is also a world-class sanitizer. It rips open the "skin" (cell walls) of bacteria, mold, and viruses instantly. This is why ozonated fruit often stays fresh longer in the fridge—you’ve removed the germs that cause rot.

THE PESTICIDE LIABILITY SHEILD DID NOT GO THROUGH. THANK YOU TO REPRESENTATIVE LUNA, PINGREE, MASSIE, 280 CONGRESSMEN AND WOMEN WHO VOTED AGAINST IT, AND MAHA ADVOCATES.
We don't have to be diplomatic when they are trying to seriously harm us!
NOW, LET'S TAKE A LOOK AT THE FINE PRINT.
Who voted to protect the companies poisoning us and our children?

GT Thompson (R-PA)

As Chair of the House Agriculture Committee, Thompson was the top recipient of "Big Ag" money, pulling in over $835,810 from pesticide and chemical interests. He was essentially the legislative arm of the Modern Ag Alliance (a Bayer/Syngenta front).

He pushed the "Uniformity Narrative." He claimed that if states were allowed to label pesticides as "carcinogenic," it would create a "patchwork of laws" that would destroy the American food supply and raise grocery prices.

MAHA activists exposed this as a "Liability Shield." They pointed out that Thompson wasn't trying to help farmers; he was trying to retroactively kill thousands of lawsuits from people dying of Non-Hodgkin’s Lymphoma. They labeled him the "King of Corporate Immunity."

Steve Scalise & Tom Emmer (R-LA/MN)

As House Leadership, their "bribe" came in the form of massive PAC donations to the NRCC (National Republican Congressional Committee). Their job was to "whip" the vote and ensure the "poison clauses" stayed in the Farm Bill.

They framed pesticide immunity as a "National Security" issue. They told the public that regulating these chemicals was an "attack on American sovereignty" by radical environmentalists.

MAHA leadership, including RFK Jr. and Anna Paulina Luna, went directly to their base. They framed Scalise and Emmer as "Globalist sell-outs" who were prioritizing the profits of foreign-owned chemical companies (like Syngenta) over the literal brains and guts of American children.

Ashley Hinson (R-IA)
Hinson represents Iowa, the heart of chemical runoff and high cancer rates. She has long-standing ties to Syngenta and has been a vocal defender of Atrazine, a chemical banned in Europe for turning male frogs female and linked to birth defects in humans.

She used the "Farmers know best" shield. She claimed that questioning these chemicals was "insulting to Iowa's hardworking families," effectively using the farmers she was supposed to protect as human shields for the corporations poisoning their soil.

The movement turned her "mom" persona against her. MAHA activists began showing up in Iowa with data on the state's skyrocketing cancer rates, asking Hinson: "Which is more important: Syngenta’s stock price or the cancer wards in Des Moines?" She was painted as a "traitor to her own neighbors."

John Duarte (R-CA)
The "Nurseryman"
Duarte’s "bribe" was personal profit. As a massive nursery owner, he stood to gain directly from a world with fewer regulations and no liability for chemical damage.

He claimed he was fighting for the "little guy" against "over-regulation." He framed himself as a victim of "frivolous lawsuits" from "activist lawyers."

MAHA exposed Duarte’s history of legal battles, including a scandal where he was accused of selling diseased trees to other farmers. This destroyed his "honest farmer" brand. They highlighted that Duarte didn't want “freedom….” He wanted the "freedom to be reckless" without ever having to pay for the damage he caused to the environment or public health.

Speaker Mike Johnson
Johnson’s job was to deliver the 2026 Farm Bill as a "clean" gift to the industry. He was the one who ultimately decided to keep the "poison clauses" in the base text of the bill, despite knowing they were a direct assault on state-level health warnings.

Johnson repeatedly framed the pesticide liability shield as a way to provide "certainty" and "stability" to the American farmer. He used the high cost of farming (input costs, fertilizer prices) as a emotional shield to hide the fact that the bill was actually designed to protect Bayer/Monsanto from multibillion-dollar cancer lawsuits. He essentially told the public: "If we don't protect these chemical companies from being sued by people with cancer, the American farmer will fail."

The MAHA movement, led by Rep. Anna Paulina Luna and influencers like Vani Hari (Food Babe), targeted Johnson’s Christian-conservative brand. They argued that "Protecting Life" should include protecting children from neurotoxins and carcinogens in their food.

In a massive blow to his leadership, Johnson was eventually forced to allow a floor vote on the Luna Amendment. He realized that if he didn't let the "poison clauses" be stripped, the entire Farm Bill would fail because the MAHA-aligned Republicans would defect and vote with the Democrats.

Mike Johnson tried to "sneak" corporate immunity for pesticide giants through the back door, but he underestimated the power of the MAHA movement. He eventually "caved" (according to the industry) or "listened to the people" (according to MAHA) only when his Speaker’s gavel was at risk.

NO HORNS OR CLOWN NOSE BC SHE BACK TRACKED AFTER PRESSURE.
Yadira Caraveo (D-CO)
The Complicit Doctor
Her bribe was "Political Silence." She stayed quiet on the toxicity of the Farm Bill for months, trading her medical ethics for "bipartisan" credibility and support from corporate-leaning Democrats.

While she didn't lie as loudly as the others, her omission was the lie. As a pediatrician, her silence on chemicals like Glyphosate. This compound  is found in nearly every child’s urine. This was a betrayal of her "First Do No Harm" oath.

This was the most effective "shaming" campaign. MAHA mothers across the country sent her medical journals and pictures of sick children, calling her out as a "Pediatrician for Pesticides." The pressure became so intense that she was forced to "re-discover" her medical ethics and vote against the leadership to strip the pesticide protections.

While she eventually did the "right thing" according to the MAHA movement, her critics argue she only did so after the political cost of staying silent became too high. She effectively pivoted from a complicit committee member to a "health-first" pediatrician only once it became clear that the liability shield was a losing battle.
