I remember this one Friday night. Kids were finally asleep, my husband picked something on Netflix, and I had every intention of actually watching it.
Except I picked up my phone to "check one thing" and 20 minutes later I was deep in someone else's comments section, half-watching a movie I couldn't tell you the plot of, and mentally drafting a caption I wasn't even going to post until Monday.
My husband paused it and said "are you even here right now?"
Honestly? No. I wasn't.
And the wild part is I couldn't tell you what I was doing on my phone that was so important. Nothing was urgent. Nothing needed me. I just couldn't find the exit.
That's not a phone addiction problem. (Because trust me, I misplace my phone all the time and couldn't care less about finding it.)
That's a business that doesn't have a closing time and social media is the door that never locks.
