Gina Ford was named CEO of BioNTX this spring as the organization works to expand the region’s life sciences sector.

 

Ford will oversee efforts to grow North Texas’ biotech and pharmaceutical ecosystem, including support for startups, workforce development, and industry partnerships.

 

The region has seen increased investment in recent years, with developments like Pegasus Park in Dallas serving as a hub for research, labs and early-stage companies.

 

Ford is a pharmacist and biotech executive who previously led Women In Bio, a national organization supporting women in the industry.

Founded in 1885, Lammes has operated as a multi-generational, family-owned Texas business for more than a century. The company is known for products like its Texas Chewie Pecan Pralines and has maintained a long-standing presence in Austin and across Central Texas.

 

Prior to the closures, Lammes operated seven retail locations across Central Texas. The company cited ongoing economic pressures as the reason for scaling back its retail footprint.
