Yesterday, our first Creative Underground beta cohort met for the very first time.
Â
People joined from London, Amsterdam, Athens, Egypt, Colorado, Arizona, Houston, and Utah. Within twenty minutes we were building a magic mansion together, debating whether pirates used birds for navigation, and someone described their mood as Mongolian wool.
Â
I've been literally buzzing ever since.
That's what this whole thing is about, really. Not teaching people to be more creative — because I don't think that's the problem. From reading every single application that came through my inbox, I can tell you: the ideas are already there. Rich, weird, alive, waiting.
Â
What's missing is the relationship with them. The willingness to let them be a little messy. A little unfinished. A little real.
Â
That's what we're practicing.
introducing:Â
the brainplayground!
Â
Each week, our cohort receives what I'm calling TheBrain Playground — a collection of small, weird, embodied exercises designed to do one thing:
Â
help you notice what feels alive.
Â
Not what makes sense. Not what looks good on a business plan. Not what you've seen other successful people do.
Â
What feels alive — in your body, in your gut, in that tiny quiet signal you've been talking yourself out of following.
Â
The exercises aren't about productivity. They're not about output. They're about loosening the grip just enough that something real can come through.
Â
I want to give you a glimpse.
your brain playground taste:Â
Â
taffy body:
Â
Â
taffy body
pretend your body is made of taffy.
Â
slowly stretch, twist, pull, melt.
let your spine go somewhere it doesn't normally go. let your arms get strange. let your face get weird.
Â
then turn on your favorite song and dance like that.
Â
not good dancing— taffy dancing.
LEARN MORE!
loosen the grip!
That's it. That's the whole thing.
Â
If it feels a little ridiculous, you're doing it right. The point isn't the dancing. The point is what happens when you give your body permission to be completely, joyfully, unproductively free for three minutes.
Notice what shifts. Notice what loosens. Notice if something in you goes — oh. there you are.
"seemingly fragile — but capable of extraordinary things."
Â
one of our cohort members described their mood today as butterfly wings. thin and delicate. but able to carry something remarkable across impossible distances.
