15 May 2026
Take a deep breath.

Know that you are not alone.
We journey together.

Only what is welcome is invited in.

Welcome to Soul Care Weekly, an invitation to engage in mindful and creative practices as acts of soul care. Listening to wisdom and the call within, I follow the lead to share these weekly offerings with you. They'll be simple and meaningful. Of course, only what is welcome is invited in. You get to choose what is just right for you - and what is not - and how you interact with each invitation.

This week has been a wild one. Some days it's felt like riding a wild horse, what I imagine that to be. And others it's felt like I'm the wild horse. I found myself asking, “Where are the helpers?” and finding that answered all in the same day. Sometimes the helpers lead you to where you expected to go and sometimes they give you the direction you needed to a new landing spot. All this to say, I'm in the wilds and I'm hopeful. Some of what we navigate in life we find familiar enough and other times we're the trail blazers. I keep returning again to “love” and “fierce love" as my mantra. Not just for myself, but as a way of being. To step into the roles of love and fierce love. To BE love and sometimes fierce love. Love keeps me going. Fierce Love helps me navigate my actions and attitude.

Here are a few ways to care for your soul as you navigate life this week.

LOVING KINDNESS WALK :: As you begin to walk, elongate your breathing. Breathe in love. Breathe out love.
Breathe in compassion. Breathe out compassion.
Breathe in gratitude. Breathe out gratitude.
Continue breathing deeply, a good pace for deep breathing for you, as you walk. Share loving kindness from your heart's center. Share compassion. Share love. Share hope. Share what you're called to share. Invite only what is welcome in. Only what is welcome near. When you end your walk, place your hands to heart's center, breathe deeply, and give thanks.

POETRY :: For an Open Heart. from Broken Wide Whole by Suzanne L. Vinson
We are called to remember.
We are rememberers.
May memories come in a gentle flow.
May your memories and your tears be instruments of healing and love.
May love surround you just as the cloud of witnesses surrounds you and your community.

May you find blessing in memory, release in letting go, and the space to love with an open heart.

OPEN YOUR HEART :: Place your hand(s) to heart's center. Breathe in and out - full, deep breaths. Center your breath at your heart's center and expand your breathing from that center point. Imagine your breath filling your lungs and opening your heart. As you breathe in and breathe out, notice the sensations of your breathing with an open heart. Notice what you notice, noticing without judgement. Simply noticing. Remain in this state or if you choose, expand your awareness to include any colors, symbols, images, words, or phrases that come to your mind and heart. Does your heart have a word to share? Does your wise self have a word to share?

WITH AN OPEN HEART :: Take out something to draw with and something to draw on. Have enough to draw with so that you can use both your hands in your drawing. OPEN YOUR HEART. Then following, with eyes open or closed, invite your hands to move and draw. You may make the same shapes with opposite hands or different shapes. It doesn't have to be anything that you can name, or it can. Practice this for a number of moments. Trust yourself and the perhaps silliness of this request. Listen to your heart as you do so.

DEEP PEACE :: Where do you need to be to clear your mind? What can you do to have an ease of being? Give yourself what you most need to find peace. Give yourself what you most need to find deep peace. May you cultivate deep peace within and all around you, even for a breath. Even for a moment.

If you could use a witness, someone to hold alongside you what you're discovering, share what you choose to share with me using the link below.

sending you peace in each breath.
