🌞 June - Walking Towards the Longest Light
As June arrives, the energy of late spring ripens into the fullness of early summer. What began as tender shoots and birdsong in the awakening months now stands in confident abundance — woodland canopies thicken into cooling green sanctuaries, wildflowers spill across meadows and pathways, and the longer days invite us to linger a little deeper in nature’s embrace. Foxgloves, elderflower, and the first signs of summer berries begin to appear, while the hum of pollinators and the chorus of birds create a living symphony all around. There is a tangible sense of expansion at this time of year — a season of vitality, abundance, and the approaching light of Summer Solstice, inviting us to pause, reflect, and reconnect with what truly nourishes us.

As we move towards the longest day of the year, nature offers a powerful reminder of nature’s cycles of growth, fullness, and renewal. It is a beautiful time to step beneath the trees, gather in community, and honour both the outer beauty of the season and the inner light it awakens within us. In this edition, we share reflections from recent woodland gatherings, seasonal inspirations, and a glimpse of what is still to come as summer continues to unfold.

🌞 From Beltane’s Fire to the Light of Alban Hefin ✨
As the vibrant energy of Beltane begins to settle into the land, we now move towards the golden threshold of Alban Hefin or Litha — the Celtic celebration of the Summer Solstice and the longest day of the year. Where spring invited awakening, growth, and the first sparks of new possibility, June brings a season of fullness, confidence, and radiant expression.
In the old traditions, Alban Hefin marked the moment when the sun reached its greatest strength — illuminating the land, nourishing the crops, and filling the natural world with life. It was a time to honour abundance, vitality, and the sacred relationship between Earth, sky, and the ever-turning wheel of the seasons.
Across Celtic lands, hilltops and sacred places became gathering points for midsummer celebrations. Fires were lit in honour of the sun, herbs and flowers were gathered for protection and healing, and communities came together to give thanks for the fertility and richness of the land. It was a time of celebration, but also reflection — for from the peak of light, the wheel slowly begins its turn back inward.
Echoes of these ancient customs still live on today in midsummer gatherings, floral wreaths, bonfires, and the quiet instinct many of us feel to spend longer beneath open skies, among trees, and close to flowing water during this luminous season.
As you step outdoors this month, notice how nature has reached a place of confidence and maturity. The woodland canopy offers cooling shelter, wildflowers sway in warm breezes, pollinators move with purpose, and the evenings seem reluctant to end.
June invites us to honour not only the outer light of midsummer, but the inner light that has been quietly growing within us since winter — asking what is now ready to be fully seen, shared, and celebrated. 🌞🍃
🌕 Sunday 31st May at 09:45 – Hawthorn Blue Full Micro Moon
Last month saw a second Full Moon within the Hawthorn cycle, carrying a rare and potent energy — often referred to as a Blue Moon — amplifying themes of fulfilment, realisation, and heightened awareness.
The Hawthorn Moon, influencing the first two weeks of June, deepens our connection to our heart space, inviting both celebration and clarity, offering insight into what is flourishing and what may need rebalancing.
Hawthorn's protective and magical qualities support emotional courage and a deeper trust in life's unfolding, making this a beautiful time to pause, acknowledge growth, and honour the quiet magic that has been at work beneath the surface.
Joanna’s online Full Moon Meditation takes place on Sunday evening🌿✨
🌑 Monday 15th June at 03:54 – Oak Super New Moon
(Sunday night / Monday morning)
As we enter the sacred moon cycle of the oak, this powerful Super New Moon invites us to root deeply into our truth while reaching confidently towards the light. Long revered as the king of the forest, the oak symbolises strength, endurance, wisdom, and the quiet authority that comes from standing firmly in one’s centre.
Arriving just days before the Summer Solstice, this lunation carries an especially potent energy of inner alignment and purposeful intention. What began as tender growth in spring is now asking for structure, commitment, and deeper embodiment.
This is a powerful time to plant intentions around leadership, personal integrity, long-term vision, and the foundations you wish to strengthen in the months ahead. Oak reminds us that true growth does not rush — it roots deeply, grows steadily, and stands resilient through every season.
🌕 Tuesday 30th June at 00:56 – Oak Strawberry Full Micro Moon
(Monday night / early Tuesday morning)
As the Oak Moon reaches fullness, it brings illumination, gratitude, and the fruits of what has been quietly growing, often out of sight. Traditionally in North American cultures, this was named the Strawberry Moon, for the time of the ripening of wild strawberries, and this period signals a season of sweetness, nourishment, and the first gifts of summer’s abundance.
Held within the steady energy of oak, this Micro Moon may feel subtle in appearance, yet emotionally and spiritually it offers profound clarity. Intentions that were planted earlier in the month now begin to reveal their direction, offering insight into what is strengthening, what is maturing, and where your energy is best invested.
Oak encourages discernment, courage, and heart-led leadership. This midsummer moon invites us to celebrate growth, acknowledge resilience, and honour how far we have already come.
Joanna’s online Full Moon Meditation takes place on Tuesday evening, offering a beautiful opportunity to pause, reflect, and align with the wisdom and abundance of this sacred lunar peak. 🌕🌿

Through mindful immersion in nature, gentle enquiry, and held space, this special event offers an invitation to pause, remember, and realign with your full self.
Shadow Work and Inner Child Healing invites gentle exploration of parts of yourself that were pushed aside, misunderstood, or too hard to face. These aspects often formed as coping or protection during overwhelming times; when unacknowledged, they influence relationships, limit expression, and create unexplained patterns. Approaching them with curiosity rather than judgment lets you release stuck emotions and integrate their wisdom, leading to greater wholeness, internal ease and authenticity—ultimately coming home to yourself.

Animal Encounter - Blue Butterflies Dancing
For Joanna, the recent sight of two Small Blue Butterflies dancing together felt like a tiny moment of enchantment gifted by nature 🦋✨
Although the Small Blue is Britain’s smallest blue butterfly, its subtle beauty carries a surprisingly profound symbolism. Often appearing grey-brown when still, these delicate butterflies can suddenly shimmer with soft powder-blue iridescence as sunlight catches their wings — a reminder that hidden beauty and light are often revealed through movement, change, and perspective.
Seeing two together in a spiralling aerial dance is commonly connected with courtship and harmony in the natural world. Spiritually, however, such encounters may symbolise:
🦋 Balance between intuition and action
🦋 Gentle emotional healing
🦋 Soul harmony and synchronicity
🦋 Joy, playfulness and lightness of spirit
🦋 The importance of allowing life to unfold naturally
Blue butterflies are often associated with peace, communication, and higher guidance. Their fleeting presence reminds us to treasure moments of beauty without trying to hold too tightly to them.
The Small Blue’s tiny size also carries its own wisdom. Great transformation does not always arrive with dramatic fanfare; sometimes the most meaningful shifts come quietly, softly, and almost unnoticed — like two powder-blue butterflies dancing together beneath the spring sky 🌿💙
