The Rituals Training Program (RTP) is where team members share real-life experiences, practical skills, and confidence-building lessons that go beyond cosmetology school. It's a supportive learning environment where everyone learns from one another’s expertise. We provide one-on-one training across a variety of skill categories to support careers in cosmetology. In our area, most programs focus heavily on classroom instruction, which can limit hands-on opportunities. Our emphasis on continuous professional development and collaborative training creates a stronger, more cohesive team dynamic.

Meet our apprentices: Mari, Ryleigh, Haley, and Taylor.

What advice would you give someone considering the apprenticeship?
“I would tell them to be prepared for a lot of hard lessons. You will have to work hard every single day and pour yourself into the work.” -Eryn

Can you share a moment when a mentor made a big impact on your learning?
“When I’m partnered with Angel, I feel like an equal. She makes sure we know that we are appreciated and treated with respect, and not just a helping hand or an apprentice. Everything she is doing she pushes us to grab a hair dryer or a color brush and to be there with her every step of her day. It helps me learn and work on timing.” -Taylor

What is your favorite part of the program?
“I get to work in a busy, fast-paced environment that allows me to be hands-on and always learning!” -Haley

How would you describe the culture of the salon?
“The culture of the salon is very much like family. We all have our moments, but when it comes down to it I know I can count on my team to show up for me.” -Mari

A few words from our stylists who have completed the program…

“Without Rituals I probably would have quit hair all together. Our directors know when to push you and when to pump the brakes. They're not just teaching hair, they're teaching life skills that will be carried with you for the rest of your working life.”
-Eryn, Junior Stylist

“Everyday I am at the salon I am able to find an opportunity to grow.”
-Mary, Junior Stylist

“I feel as though I've found a family who cares about my career. They never fail to try and watch me succeed and continue to push me to my best limits!”
-Jillian, Artist Stylist

“One of my proudest moments at Rituals has been joining the Rituals Training Program as an educator. It is truly a full circle moment to become a part of the education team that helped me create my career. Watching the apprentices grow and achieve their goals is incredibly rewarding.”
-Errin, Master Stylist

Why Do Apprenticeships Matter to Rituals?

We love seeing our apprentices grow, learn, and truly absorb everything this industry has to offer. At Rituals, we believe that when our apprentices grow, the company grows. That’s why we’re deeply invested in their educational journey.
What truly sets us apart is our culture and team mindset. We support one another, and we encourage clients to experience the artistry of multiple stylists. As apprentices grow, our clients get to witness that growth firsthand, building trust and relationships along the way until the apprentices are ready to take on their own clients with confidence.
Our goal is to guide each apprentice in building both technical skills and self-assurance behind the chair, allowing for a smooth transition from apprentice to professional hairstylist. At the same time, the program allows our existing team members to tap into their strengths—whether through mentoring, leadership, or continued professional and personal growth.

What Is the Layout of RTP?

The structure of RTP shifts each season depending on the number of students, but on average, the program runs for about nine months. The curriculum is built around three core skill categories: Styling, Cutting, and Coloring.
Our trained team members are selected to serve as educators for the classes. Classes are held once a week, giving apprentices hands-on learning opportunities and guided practice that are reinforced throughout the work week by their educators and mentors.
After a few weeks of training, each skill is put into action through model calls. This gives apprentices the opportunity to work on real models while being closely supervised by our educators. Through this process, apprentices practice technical skills and become skill-certified in preparation for working with paying clients.
Right now, our apprentices are practicing clipper haircuts on clients while working side-by-side with master stylists to refine their techniques.

What Does Recruitment for Future Apprentices Look Like?
We are always looking for passionate, driven individuals to join our team as apprentices. When hiring, we look for candidates who are currently enrolled in cosmetology school. As a state-licensed salon, we’re able to support apprentices as they complete their required hours in preparation for their State Board exams.
We look for team members who are eager to build a long-term career with us at Rituals. We don’t hire just to fill positions—we hire people who fit our team and culture. Applications can be found on our website; however, we always encourage prospective apprentices to stop by the salon, meet our team, and apply in person.

At Rituals, we don’t just grow stylists—we grow together.
