Titan Nation,

 

The school year is rapidly coming to an end, but we still have plenty to celebrate. From our scholars to our faculty members, our Titans continue to strive for excellence each day, ensuring they finish the year #TitanStrong.

 

Throughout this year, our community has demonstrated perseverance, leadership, and a commitment to pursuing all that is true, good, and beautiful. We are incredibly proud of all that our Titans have accomplished and are inspired by the way they continue to grow.

Ms. Nicole Leon: 2027 Teacher of the Year Finalist

Mrs. Nicole Leon, True North Classical Academy Dadeland, is a finalist for the 2027 Florida Teacher of the Year competition! 

 

This incredible news was delivered to her by Florida Department of Education Chancellor Paul Burns during a surprise visit to our Dadeland Campus. 

 

For more than 20 years, Mrs. Leon has helped cultivate life-long learners that are cemented in virtue and seek for truth, goodness, and beauty. She has spent countless hours inside and outside the classroom assisting scholars and has created a lasting impact in the lives of thousands. 

 

Last year, Mrs. Leon made history as the first Charter School Teacher of the year. She was awarded this honor based on a multitude of factors, including her student's academic achievement, classroom culture, and overall excellence in teaching. 

Guitar and Drama Spring Show

On May 9th, our Lower School scholars presented their Spring Music and Drama Showcase: The Wizard of Oz. The two-part performance featured a musical component filled with songs and instrumental numbers, followed by a dramatic performance that highlighted our scholars’ talent.

 

We are incredibly proud of our scholars for the dedication they brought to the stage and for the wonderful performance they shared with our community. Congratulations, all!

Principal & Coaches for the Day

At our recent gala, we auctioned off a unique opportunity: the chance for scholars to step into the shoes of our Head of School or Athletic Coach for a day. This week, several of our winners redeemed their experiences, getting a true "behind-the-scenes" look at school leadership.

 

Our "Principals for a Day" took charge by running mock fire drills, attending leadership meetings, and, most popularly, announcing over the loudspeaker that a class of their choice would have a homework-free night. Meanwhile, our "Guest Coaches" managed everything from uniform checks and daily stretches to selecting the day’s activities. They oversaw drills, managed water breaks, and ensured all equipment was properly stored.

 

Beyond the fun, these scholars gained a firsthand understanding of what it takes to lead our school community, creating lasting memories.

True North Baseball 

Our True North Baseball team earned its first trip to the State Final Four!

 

This past Saturday, our scholar-athletes won a match against Hollywood's Chaminade-Madonna School in dominant fashion. Their 12-3 victory officially punched their ticket to states, where, for the first time in program history, they will compete for the title.

 

This accomplishment is five years in the making and a direct reflection of the hours of work, preparation, team-building activities, and development they have put in on and off the field.

Boys' Volleyball

Our Boys' Volleyball Team played against Cardinal Gibbons High School in the State Semi-Finals. Their victory officially secured them a spot in the State Final, which is scheduled for tomorrow at 4:00 PM.

 

Currently, our Boys' Volleyball Team are ranked 2nd in the State of Florida and have paved their way to this accolade the Titan way. They have been composed, dedicated, and shown exemplary teamwork. Their determination and ability to work together as one Titan Community has gotten them this far into the post-season. 

 

Congratulations, scholars! We are all rooting for you.
