Many of us look out into this big world and spot people we would genuinely love to connect with. We imagine that spending time with them might help us stay inspired and hopeful about our work with people.
About six or seven years ago (lol 6/7 😆), I sought out and introduced myself to someone at a conference I had been following on Twitter. This person inspired me, shared similar values, and wrote in a way that made me feel hopeful about my work. We had a few brief, fun conversations and decided to stay in touch.
A year or two later, we had a chance to reconnect in person. It felt like an easy friendship built around a shared passion for creating spaces of belonging and supporting people to be their best selves. When we went our separate ways, I told him, "Someday we are going to work together on something and it will be AMAZING!"
Last week, Dr. Phil Echols and I MADE that happen! We co-presented a workshop called
Facilitator Mindsets, TOGETHER! This was years in the making and it exceeded every expectation. It turns out Phil had set an intention all those years ago to find someone he might want to collaborate with someday, too. Someone who would leave him feeling inspired.
