Picture a random weekday afternoon.

 

You've got a client deliverable due, you're trying to remember if you paid that invoice, your kid's permission slip is open in one tab, you're half in your own Instagram, and somewhere in that disaster is the Google Doc you actually need right now.

 

 

You're just working out of a browser that has absolutely no concept of context. Everything you've ever needed is in there somewhere, all at once, all equally in the way.

 

Your business tabs. Your personal tabs. Your client stuff. Your own stuff. One giant window that technically has everything and makes it nearly impossible to actually focus on any of it.

 

 

I've been running my browser with separate profiles for my business, my personal life, and each of my 1:1 ongoing support clients for a while now.

 

When I'm in a client's world, that's the only world open. When I close it out, it's gone. Clean lines. No bleed.

 

That's what we're talking about this week.

I have one profile for my own business. That's where anything Created with Kelly lives. My website backend, my FloDesk, my Canva, my content, my own Google Drive. When I'm in that profile I'm in my business and nothing else.

 

I have one profile for personal. School stuff, personal email, online shopping, whatever I need that has nothing to do with work. It exists separately so it stops randomly showing up when I'm trying to get something done.

 

And then I have an individual profile for each of my 1:1 ongoing support clients. Their Google Drive. Their tools. Their logins. Everything relevant to that specific person lives in their profile and nowhere else. When I sit down to work on their business, that's the only thing on my screen.

 

The thing that makes this actually work isn't the organization. It's the context switch. Opening a client's profile feels different than opening your own. Your brain knows what it's there to do. You're not sorting through noise to find the signal because the noise doesn't exist in that window.
