Happy Sunday & Happy Mother's Day to All My Mamas!!Â
Â
Whether you’re a mom, celebrating one, missing one, hoping to become one, or simply nurturing others in your own way, this week is a beautiful reminder that caring for yourself matters too.
Â
As women, we spend so much time pouring into everyone around us that our own health often gets put on the back burner. This Mother’s Day, I want to encourage you to fill your own cup, prioritize your self-care, nourish yourself, and remember that feeling healthy, energized, and balanced is not selfish - it’s foundational.
Â
When we take care of ourselves first, we have so much more energy, patience, and love to give to the people around us. We also teach those around us (especially with little ones watching our habits). This is a gentle reminder to fill your cup first and enjoy your special day!Â

♡ THIS WEEK’S WELLNESS TRICK ♡
This week, instead of asking “What should I cut out?”, try the “what can I add?” trick.
So often with weight loss goals, we become hyper-focused on all the foods we feel like we “can’t” have - which usually backfires and just makes us want them even more. That restriction mindset can turn into overeating later, followed by guilt and feeling like we’re “resetting” again.
Â
If this feels like you - Instead, try shifting the focus. If you’re craving something, ask yourself:
“What can I add to this to make it more nourishing & keep me full?”
Â
Years ago, I felt like I could never have chips around me. If they were in front of me, I’d end up eating way too many and feel awful afterward. Eventually, I realized the chips weren’t actually the problem -  it was the all-or-nothing mindset and guilt I had attached to them.
Once we allow foods in moderation, they often lose some of their power over us.
Â
Now, instead of eating chips on their own, I’ll pair them with things that actually help keep me full and satisfied - like carrot chips, veggies, and a high-protein dip. I still love to choose better quality chips with healthier oils that still taste delicious. I love Jackson's Chips for this. I'm also obsessed with these seasonings I found to add to Greek Yogurt or Cottage Cheese for healthier home-made dips →Spice Age Seasoning Packets. (click the name to get the link)
Â
The same goes for cookies. If you love Oreos (for example) and they’re in the house, but you’re telling yourself you “can’t” have them while finding yourself constantly fixating on them, try shifting the approach instead of keeping them completely off limits. Rather than finishing half the sleeve standing in the kitchen, try crushing one or two into a bowl of Greek yogurt and actually sit down, slow down, and enjoy it. It becomes way more filling, keeps blood sugar balanced, and still satisfies the craving - without putting them off limits. Try it out when you feel those strong cravings/fixations hit and see if it helps!Â
Â
Weight loss and maintaining weight loss work best when it feels sustainable. Together, we eat smarter! Following these little mindset shifts over time, and when we stop labeling foods as “bad,” or “good” the guilt comes down, balance becomes easier, and healthy habits become much more realistic long term. đź’›Â
