LOCAL FOOD IS MEDICINE
written by Courtney O'Neill | photos by Yashila Sanchez, Yashila Photography

At Prema Farm, harvest often happens before most people have poured their first cup of coffee. The air is sharp, the soil damp, and the vegetables still feel like they belong to the morning songbirds. Greens snap cleanly at their stems. Carrots come up gritty and sweet, carrying the smell of earth on their skins. This food hasn’t traveled yet. It hasn’t waited in refrigerated boxes for weeks. It hasn’t yet forgotten the very place it came from.
