Hi First name / friend, “I never thought I'd talk to you…" This is what Yolanda O., an 84-year-old woman at a local assisted living facility (pictured above), said to me as I was packing up after our interview. I really should keep the camera rolling until I walk out the door because some of the funniest moments happen after I stop recording… But I knew what she meant. I hear this often from the older adults I visit. Many are hesitant at first or insist they have nothing worth sharing…and then two hours later, they’re still talking 😂 Fortunately, I much prefer listening to talking, so it works out well (and God clearly knew what He was doing when He gave me this assignment!). Assisted living facility outreach |

These are the faces of some of the women I've interviewed at Indigo Pines, a local assisted living facility here in Hilton Head. I'm working on creating clips to share across social media platforms…they've given me SO much good content! Next month, I'll be giving a presentation at TidePointe, another local retirement community. The Director of Lifestyle Services said to come at 5pm because that's when happy hour is…maybe they'll be more inclined to talk to me after a glass (or two) of wine?! |

THE LATEST FROM THE PODCAST |
|
I have to say…out of ALL the 50+ conversations I’ve had on the podcast so far, this one with Juliet Dawn may have been one of the most powerful. It's also one I continue to receive a lot of positive feedback on…I HIGHLY recommend giving it a listen! Together, we discuss: 👉🏻 The tension of reconciling suffering with the goodness of God 👉🏻 The importance of speaking truth and God’s promises over your life 👉🏻 What it means to live from the spirit instead of the soul 👉🏻 Fighting for your destiny and finding purpose in suffering Wise words worth echoing: - “If you care about having a kingdom purpose and walking out your destiny, you have to fight for it. Keep fighting for it. Keep coming and saying to your soul, ‘I’m blessing myself to live out my birthright, my destiny, and what's been purposed for my life.' The devil will steal it if he can. You have to fight for it."

Meet one of our board members: Tom Gardo |
|
Eternal Echoes is guided by a dedicated Board of Directors whose wisdom and experience help shape and strengthen our mission. One of those board members is Tom Gardo, who brings more than 55 years of experience in marketing communications and public relations across major corporations and agencies. When asked why he supports Eternal Echoes, Tom shared: "I am on the board of Eternal Echoes because I believe every human story matters. Diverse life stories are valuable because they capture the human experience. No two lives unfold the same way. By "echoing" our experiences, dreams, struggles and triumphs we add to the collective understanding of what it means to be human – made in God's image. If indeed we bear the image of God, then every story matters." |

If you've read my last few newsletters, you may remember the “Articles of Interest” section, where I share cultural commentaries and articles that connect with the mission of Eternal Echoes. What I haven’t mentioned is that many of these pieces actually come from my mom, who regularly texts me photos of articles (like the one above) that align with our mission. So, I’m officially renaming this section: “Texts from Mom.” She’s unintentionally become my unpaid research assistant 😂 (thanks, Mom!) |
