First name / friend, how have you been? Me? Energized and exhausted all at the same time - my typical state when the seasons start to really shift. I get excited about all the new projects and then go a little too hard. You’d think at this point in life I’d have learned to go easy (and wear sunscreen), but alas, no. My forearms are currently Benjamin Moore 2007-10. Right now, I could use a me…someone to pop into my project(s), give me a high level overview and unbiased opinion, and then create an easy plan I could follow to finish it all. So I’ll be here, attempting to sort through these trees for a view of the forest, making sure the sunscreen bottle is in a more prominent location, and searching out some… |

- A day spent entirely outside, from breakfast to bedtime (inflammation notwithstanding).
- Going back to container gardening instead of in-ground. A revelation. Some things don't have to be so damn hard.
- Making plans to hang out with my nieces this summer and learn some stuff together.
- The new Benjamin Moore search interface is so good
- A rain chain that looks like a Dragon’s tail
- This dirty martini mocktail with salty Potato chips
- I have a REAL soft spot for Storybook Ranch houses
- GUUUUUURL
- This incredible live edge entry door
- These photo collages by Fontanesi
- I could watch Brent Hull fix McMansions all day
- The spaghetti policy for all MLB teams
- A really smart use for metal privacy panels.
- The former corporate luxury design trend reporter in me is fascinated by this whole conversation on Tasteslop.
- What Rothko is your weather?

Here are the other Seven Things that are helping me keep my chin up these days. I hope they help you, too, wherever and however you may be: |

While the interior of this Comstock cottage in Carmel is dreamy, it’s the exterior that has me with heart-eyes (just like the shutters). So thoughtfully done, and so of its place. It's perfect. |
|
A yearning for the South has been about so I’ve been soothing with food. Low Country Boil, BBQ, Meet-and-Three, Red Beans & Rice, sky high coconut cake, it’s all I want to eat right now. |
|
So sad to hear of his passing, but what a collection of music he’s left us. This album is one of our absolute faves. |
|
I had to read this before it got spoiled. Unexpectedly visceral, with a deliciously hate-able main character. WILD fiction, and yet, more than a hint of truth at the center of it. |
|
It’s not always my cup of tea, but when it hits it HITS. Because sometimes you just need to laugh at something really stupid. Game Changer and especially Make Some Noise do it for me. |
|
As a long time renter and apartment-dweller, container gardening was the only thing I did for 20 years. So I took some leftover containers from my Mom’s stash, gave them a color glow-up and moved some of my existing herb garden from the ground. I’m really liking the new Behr spray paints. |

Had a three-project month, and this paint scheme project was one of them! Adding some subtle cottage soul back to a house that had been crudely flipped was a joy to work on with an interior designer who just couldn’t figure the exterior out! |

First name / Friend, I'm so glad you're here! |
