In fact, here on the West Coast, some grocery storesâSafeway, Vons, a couple of Fred Meyer locations, as well as Krogerâhave decided to supply paper bags that aren't just smaller don't have handles either. As you may imagine, this doesn't go over well with all customers.

If it were solely an environmental decision, that would make sense. However, if the stores claim it's a supply chain issue, I take that with a grain of salt. They should just admit it: âWe no longer want to foot the bill for paper bags with handles.â
