Titan Nation,

 

The end of the 2025-2026 school year has arrived. Although the school year has come to an end, we had plenty of reasons to celebrate up until the very final day of school. From moving-up ceremonies to academic awards, this week was filled with continued enthusiasm and educational enrichment opportunities. This is a direct reflection of what it means to be a Titan. As Titans, we are not simply racing to the finish line. Rather, we are chasing truth, goodness, and beauty. We continuously put our best foot forward and aim for excellence.

 

Titans, as the school year ends, our scholars, faculty, and alumni will continue to seek the greater things in life. That is why we will continue to provide the top stories of all things Titans throughout the summer break. The only difference is that our editions will be shared biweekly.

Moving Up Ceremony

True North Classical Academy proudly celebrated its lower school scholars during the moving up ceremonies! The ceremonies took place at Miami-Dade College and celebrated a key milestone in the educational journey of our scholars. The ceremony also served as an opportunity for families, faculty, and friends to reflect on the growth and achievements that have shaped our scholars.

 

During the ceremony our scholars recited poems, sang the alma mater, and reminisced about their times in our lower school. One of the most memorable moments of the ceremony was when our 6th graders received their Titan journal. These journals are meant for them to reflect and write down what is important to them. This tradition was first adopted over 10 years ago with our first sixth-grade class. It was inspired by a classical tradition that reaches back to Marcus Aurelius and his personal reflections in Meditations, where scholars are able to record their thoughts, questions, observations, and ideas. As a classical education school, we believe that the habit of reflection and writing is crucial, as it helps develop habits of mind and character. Over time, these habits become an integral part of who we are as individuals.

 

We are extremely proud of all of our Titans. Every year, we look forward to seeing them continue to grow, learn, and thrive as individuals rooted in truth, goodness, and beauty.

Senior Thesis Distinction Defenses

On Tuesday, three of our graduating scholars presented and defended their senior theses during a special event at our Sunset Campus. During the event, our scholars read their senior theses, elaborated on the writing process with their advisor, and participated in a lively Q&A session.  At the end of the event, they were surprised with a Senior Thesis Distinction Award – an award given for their excellence in writing, dedication to the thesis process, and virtuous defense in the pursuit of truth. 

 

The Senior Thesis represents the culmination of the rigorous four-year journey at True North, a journey marked by intellectual growth, curiosity, and the pursuit of truth. 

Logic School Academic Awards

This week, our logic scholars' year long work were recognized during our annual Logic School Academic Award Ceremony. The celebration took place in our Sunset Campus Gym and recognized several students who have excelled in the classroom, field, and service.

Dr. Galopin's Chemistry Class

Even though the school year is winding down, Dr. Galopin and his chemistry scholars are continuing to engage in educational enriching activities to deepen their scientific knowledge while having fun in the classroom. This week, Dr. Galopin hosted the popular elephant toothpaste experiment during his chemistry class to highlight the rapid eruption and heat generated by the chemical reaction. 

 

To keep the spirit of our school's year-long celebration of America's 250th Anniversary, Dr. Galopin used red and blue dye. As a result, a beautiful American Flag was seen during the eruption of his experiment.
