From May 29–31, we delivered makunouchi bento boxes to the San Diego Padres during their series in DC ⚾️. Through our connection with the LA Dodgers, we were introduced to the Padres — home to pitchers Yu Darvish and Yuki Matsui — and this year marked our second order from the team 🎉.
Following guidance from their registered dietitian, this year's requirements included no raw fish, no fried foods, and a new addition: gluten-free🌿. One thing that might surprise you — soy sauce actually contains a small amount of wheat, so a strict gluten-free diet requires switching to tamari. This time, however, regular soy sauce was approved. While our homemade panko-crusted ground beef cutlet, crispy cheese chicken, and curry croquettes were off the menu, we crafted a thoughtful lineup of miso-simmered mackerel, ginger pork, and nikujaga (meat and potato stew) — a satisfying balance of fish and meat dishes 🐟🥩.
Nothing brings us greater joy than supporting athletes who give their all on the field with nourishing Japanese home cooking 💪. And having them come back for more means the world to us 😊.
The Warmth of Familiar Faces ☺️
Our deliveries to Nationals Park have become a familiar routine. At the parking gate, the security staff now recognize us and wave us through with a smile 🙌. The managers and staff who come to pick up the order always greet us with a warm "We appreciate your service!" ✨
Moments like these — when our work is met with such genuine appreciation — remind us why we love what we do at Harmonious Kitchen 🍀.
And at our catering deliveries, clients welcome us with "Something smells amazing — we've been looking forward to this!" and "I heard you deliver for the Dodgers too — keep up the great work!" 😄 The encouragement we receive beyond the ballpark is just as meaningful, and it drives everything we do at Harmonious Kitchen 💖.
