Bear is back again this week!

 

We're excited (and feverishly preparing) for Blade Show ATL 2026 this weekend. We've got some exciting meetings planned to check in with our current brands and see what new gear catches our eye.

 

Personally, I'm really looking forward to seeing the new QSP Ferret. The QSP Otter is one of Otter's favorites (it's not just the name) and the Ferret looks to be another winner.

 

You may also spot us hanging out with our friends Oz and Jessica of Wizard Forge! We'll be spending some time around Table 12L, so be sure to stop by and say hello if you're attending.

🦦 Otter's Picks This Week

This week's newsletter got mildly ambushed by real life, so instead of our originally planned feature, here are three pieces of gear that have been living rent-free in our heads lately.

 

Tiny. Bright. Ridiculously useful.

 

The iUltra is one of those pieces of gear that's easy to underestimate until you actually start carrying it. Compact enough to disappear into a pocket, but powerful enough to be genuinely useful when you need it.

 

Okay, this one gets points for being useful and adorable.

 

The clear acrylic scales let you see the little Baby Penguin cutout in the tang, which is just plain fun. Pair that with the black blade and pocket-friendly size, and you've got a fixed blade that manages to be practical without taking itself too seriously.

 

This is one of those tools you don't realize you need until you own one.

 

Scale swaps. Pocket clip adjustments. General knife tinkering.

If you're the kind of person who enjoys making your gear your own, this little driver earns its keep in a hurry.
