Colorado continues to be a leader in agrivoltaics innovation, with projects across the state exploring how solar energy and agriculture can successfully coexist. As these projects develop, effective community engagement and outreach play an important role in building understanding, strengthening partnerships, and sharing lessons learned.

Join representatives from Colorado Department of Agriculture (CDA) Agrivoltaics Grant-funded projects as they discuss their experiences with community outreach, stakeholder engagement, and education efforts. Speakers will share insights into successes, challenges, and lessons learned while advancing agrivoltaics in diverse Colorado communities.

Whether you are a farmer, rancher, educator, solar developer, researcher, policymaker, or simply interested in the future of agrivoltaics, this webinar will provide valuable perspectives from projects actively shaping the field in Colorado.
As a reminder, all of our free webinars are recorded! You can find recordings for all past webinars here.

Conferences
We hosted the inaugural Colorado Agrivoltaic Conference in February at CSU Spur campus in Denver! In February, we convened 150 leaders from solar, agriculture, policy, conservation, and community organizations at the inaugural Colorado Agrivoltaic Conference. Thank you to everyone who attended to make this collaborative, action-oriented conference a huge success. We could not have done this without our volunteers, or our sponsors: Colorado State University, Rural Climate Partnership, Sandbox Solar, The Nature Conservancy in Colorado, Nextpower, Cypress Creek Renewables, Huwa Enterprises, Farm-to-Power, CoBank, Alpine Bank, Colorado Renewable Energy Society (CRES), the Renewable and Sustainable Energy Institute (RASEI), and the Colorado State Land Board. This event is also partially funded by the Colorado Department of Agriculture's Agrivoltaic R&D Grant.

Policy Program
On the policy side, CALC continued advancing agrivoltaics across Colorado by improving coordination with state agencies, expanding utility outreach, and supporting local governments in integrating agrivoltaics into land use planning. We also began evaluating utility program designs that could improve funding opportunities for agrivoltaic projects.

In addition, CALC continued promoting our Land Use Code Guidance for Deploying Agrivoltaics in Colorado. In partnership with Logan Simpson The Nature Conservancy and The COSSA Institute, we are developing smart solar siting guidance for several counties in southwest Colorado, culminating in a guide that will be published on the Colorado Department of Agriculture’s website.

Education Program

The education team is excited to announce the launch of our Mobile Classroom! This trailer will allow our team to bring lessons and projects directly to students who need it the most. This service is provided year round and free of charge to 4-12th grade students in classrooms or youth programs. To request a Mobile Classroom visit, please fill out our visit request form.

In May, 18 students from Denver School of Science and Technology: Green Valley Ranch High School received their Seal of Climate Literacy supported by the Colorado Agrivoltaic Learning Center. Students focused on a solar array down the street from their school building and through a series of modules, developed agribusiness plans to utilize and steward the land underneath. They also presented their projects in our May webinar, Agrivoltaics in Education which is now available on our website. To learn more about our Seal of Climate Literacy projects, check out “Activity Resources” on our Educators page.
