Happy Friday First name / friend!
This week has been a challenging one. I've found myself praying a little more than usual as some of my closest friends and family members face health concerns and difficult circumstances. The unknown can be one of the hardest places to stand. We want answers, timelines and solutions. Yet even in the uncertainty, we can rest in knowing that God already holds EACH situation in HIS hands.
If I'm being honest, I don't think I've been the best listener this week. I've spent too much time trying to figure things out on my own instead of leaning fully into Him. It's a reminder that faith isn't about having all the answers…it's about trusting the One who does!
One thing that has grounded me this week is digging into Ephesians.
Read more here. It's a short book, but it is packed with wisdom, encouragement, and practical guidance for daily living. My focus on Ephesians has been two-fold. First, I bought a study guide that walks through the book and I have been anxious to start, and second, I get the joy of spending tomorrow with my SonRise ladies, studying Ephesians, specifically 6:10 “Be strong in the Lord and in His mighty power.” It is exactly what my heart needs after a week like this!
I also came across something this week that challenged me. When someone asks for prayer, I am quick to respond with the praying hands emoji or a simple “I'm praying.” But do I really stop and pray in that moment? Not always. 🙁
I made a conscious effort this week to do just that though….Every time someone shared a need, I paused and prayed right then. And my friend, it felt good. Not because I have any power to change the situation, but because it reminded me where the power truly comes from.
As we wrap up this week and head into a new week, my prayer is that we would be quick to take our burdens, our worries, and the needs of others directly to the Lord. We may not know what tomorrow holds, but we know the One who holds tomorrow.
