“This Was Never Really About Weight Loss”

Hi friend,

This one feels vulnerable to write.

Because while there’s SO much conversation right now around peptides, hormones, weight gain and midlife bodies…I’ve stayed pretty private about my own experience.

Honestly, I think women are craving more honest conversations around this season of life. So here goes…

Last July, I found myself gaining more and more weight and struggling constantly with cravings.

The hardest part wasn’t really the weight.
It was feeling disconnected from myself.

The frustrating part was I was already working out hard. Trying to eat clean. Paying attention. Putting in effort.

AND it felt exhausting constantly trying to curb, control and push all the time.

I also have PCOS, so insulin resistance has always been part of my reality, which is why after a lot of research I decided to try microdosing GLP peptides.

And yes, physically they helped.
But truly, the biggest shift wasn’t even the food noise.

It was feeling like ME again.
Getting my confidence back.
Feeling good in my clothes again.
Getting that skip back in my step.

Having more energy and mental space to actually go after the life I want instead of constantly managing cravings, exhaustion and fighting myself all day long.

And this is the part I really want women to hear carefully:

Peptides are not a bandaid for the deeper work.

Because even with physical support, I still had to look honestly at my mindset and patterns.

Why was I reaching for sugar?
Was I actually hungry?
Or emotionally depleted?
What was I trying to soothe outside the kitchen?

Because health and wellness are never just physical.

The peptide helped support my body.
But mindset is what actually helped me reconnect with myself again.

That’s what I want to explore this month.

Not just peptides themselves, but the role mindset, emotional patterns and self-support play in how we feel in our bodies and lives as women in midlife.

This months insight: “When You Don't Feel Like Yourself Anymore”

I think a lot of women in midlife are quietly fighting themselves all day long

Trying harder. Eating cleaner. Pushing more.

Wondering why what used to work doesn’t work anymore.

And when your body changes, it’s easy to think you just need more discipline or willpower.

But truly, what exhausted me most wasn’t physical.
It was the constant mental load.

The cravings. The guilt. The pressure.
The feeling that I was constantly managing myself.

And when some of that quieted down, the biggest shift wasn’t the weight loss.

It was feeling like ME again.
More energy.
More confidence.
More present in my own life.

Because I don’t think women are craving another thing to control themselves with.

I think we’re craving support.

Especially after years of being the support for everyone else.

And mindset matters deeply in this conversation.

Because if we don’t look at the stress, emotional coping and self-neglect underneath it all, we just keep searching for the next fix instead of actually reconnecting with ourselves.
How to Take Your Authority Back
(For Real)

1. Stop assuming you need more discipline and start asking what kind of support you actually need.

For years I thought I needed more control, more willpower, more pushing.

But the many women I coach and talk to aren’t lazy or lacking motivation.

They’re exhausted. Hormonal. Running on stress while trying to hold everything together for everyone else. That’s different.

Ask:

“Where else can I provide myself more support?”

I hired a mentor coach for my business, set clear expectations with my boys, protected my exercise and sleep time like a king!

That combination changed things.

2. Get honest about what’s really driving the habits
Not just the food itself. Name it to release it!

The stress.
The emotional coping.
The exhaustion.
The constant pressure of carrying so much.

That awareness changes how you care for yourself.

3. Focus on feeling like yourself again.
Not just looking different.

Ask:
“What helps me feel more like myself again?
What's one baby step today I can make?”

More energy.
More confidence.
More mental space.
More presence in your actual life.

That’s the deeper shift.
