Titan Nation,

 

The summer is in full swing, and our Titans continue to stand out. The last two weeks have been filled with exciting news. 

 

Our school announced the launch of the True North high school drumline, alongside a significant subsidy that will cover the majority of each student's tuition. This new program will not only allow our scholars to participate in a long standing tradition, but also bring their energy, spirit, and rhythm to our events. 

 

Our scholars are also continuing to build upon their athletic skills, creating new friendships, and enjoying the fruits of their labor. Additionally, our Titan Alumni are working on projects over the summer and making a difference in their communities.

 

The summer is off to a fantastic start and it's only the beginning.

Join True North's High School Drumline!

True North Classical Academy is partnering with Florida Center of Percussive Arts to launch our very own Titan Drumline! 

 

To get our fall program up and running, we are hosting a summer program. To be part of the drumline, students are required to attend the summer sessions of drumline camp. The times and locations for the summer sessions are: 

True North is investing significantly in the program and will subsidize a majority of the cost.  This weekly camp typically costs $175/week; however, True North will cover a majority  of each student’s tuition, reducing the cost for the camp to $225 for all three weeks. The last day to drop-out of True North’s drumline is July 10th. By attending Week 2 and Week 3 of the drumline camp, you are committing to the fall program. After the summer program, drumline practice will be after school twice a week for Fall sports season, also at a subsidized cost of $225 per season.

Camp TNT

The first two weeks of Camp TNT are in the books and they have been nothing short of memorable. To kick things off, our Titan Campers had a surprise visit from Titus. Together, they sung the national anthem and laid the groundwork for an incredible summer. Since, they have engaged in a series of games, summer activities, and weekly field trips. Every Friday, our campers are treated to a fun splash zone, where they get to enjoy the summer sun with their fellow Titans. 

Lady Titans: Girls Flag Football

Our girls flag football team is keeping the momentum from their historic season going. Following the conclusion of the school year, they participated in the Field of Possibilities Charity Tournament, where they placed and received a $250 award. They also entered the Miami Dolphins Summer League and are having a #TitanStrong performance. 

 

This year, the Lady Titans had a winning record with 15 wins of their final 17 games. They won the district championship for the 3rd consecutive year and recorded the best season in program history.

Sophia Vanlandingham: American Heroes Student Art Contest Winner

Sophia Vanlandingham, a 5th grade scholar in our Dadeland Campus was selected as the 1st place winner in the American Heroes Student Art Contest, celebrating America's 250th Anniversary!

 

Her artwork, which was inspired by Nikola Tesla, and statement were selected out of countless of submissions from across our nation. As a 1st-palce recipient, she will represent the State of Florida in her age group category at a special celebration in Washington, DC this July.

Alumni Spotlight: Saira Malhotra

Saira Malhotra, Class of 2025, is currently attending the prestigious Clemson Honors College and is part of the inaugural Action Scholars Cohort.

 

 As part of the Action Scholars Program, Saira is spearheading a project focused on building a community for siblings of individuals with special needs. This past week was especially meaningful for her project as she hosted “Brushes and Bonding,” an event where siblings were invited to create artwork, enjoy refreshments, and connect over shared experiences.

 

While at True North, Saira founded the Best Buddies Club to promote compassion for individuals with special needs. To this day, the Best Buddies Club remains one of the most popular clubs at our school. Her willingness to serve her community and dedication to creating a lasting impact are not only inspiring but also a testament to what it means to be a Titan.
