June is behind, summer in the north is there. July and August are going to be more quiet. We will not do any newsletter next month. Doesn't mean we will not be doing anything. It just means you will get ever more to look at in September! After last month's feature-packed release — Community Offers, Direct Messaging, Deck Legality checks — June looked a little different. Instead of chasing big new features, we rolled up our sleeves and worked through the pile of bug reports and small requests you sent us, especially around the scanner. The result is a Gestic that feels noticeably smoother and steadier. We also snuck in one nice new feature for exporting your lists. |
New Export Formats: The Export tool in the toolbox has been reworked. Instead of a generic "preset," you now pick the exact format you need: Custom, Moxfield, Manabox, TCGPlayer, ManaPool, or Arena. Choose "Custom" and you're still in full control of your separator and field selection. Choose anything else and Gestic builds the right structure for you automatically. While we were in there, we also fixed the annoying bug where changing the delimiter would silently re-select every field, undoing your choices. |
Scanner logic: While reviewing failed scans, we found a few ways to improve the scanner's logic. This will directly reduce the number of rejected scans, making your overall experience even better. |
Scanner Reliability Pass: - Deleted scans no longer reappear when you go back to review them.
- Failed-scan pictures now display properly instead of showing blank.
- The AI "magnifier" button for sets no longer wipes out your set selection when you click it.
- Mouse-hover previews are reliable again.
- Updating a card's condition or set in the review window now shows up immediately, everywhere it should.
- Toggling foil/finish no longer randomly reverts on its own.
- Language flags now match the card you actually scanned.
Smarter, Safer Shortcuts: We have introduced keyboard shortcuts to the scanner! To duplicate the last entry, or delete it, as well as to make it as foil, no normal. All of these are becoming configurable from the configuration page, so you can turn off anything you don't use. We also fixed a papercut where pressing Space to type a card name inside the review modal would accidentally trigger a new photo capture. |
And more: We also cleared out a batch of smaller papercuts: Add by Set is snappier when adding several copies at once and hides its version arrow when there's nothing to scroll to; list resizing is back after briefly going missing; changing a deck's type no longer reloads the whole list; mouse-hover previews and failed-scan pictures in the scan page are reliable again; foil/finish toggling no longer randomly reverts; language flags on scanned cards now match the card itself; "Looking For" store lines no longer split oddly on narrow screens; reply threads in your Inbox correctly jump back to the top; the Create List flow behaves properly again; we fixed a specific card that refused to add; we removed the temporary Gemini-assisted scan option now that it's no longer needed; and we refreshed our Discord invite link below in case your old one stopped working. |

Highlighted Feature of the Month: New Export Formats |
This month's highlight goes to the redesigned Export tool. A lot of you use Gestic alongside other tools — Moxfield for deckbuilding, Manabox on the go, TCGPlayer or ManaPool for buying and selling, Arena for digital play. Getting a list into the right shape for each of those used to mean fiddling with delimiters and field selections every time. Now it's one click: open Export in the toolbox, pick the destination, and you're done. Let us know if there's a platform you'd like to see added next! First step is to open the list you are looking to export, and go into the toolbox window. |
There you will mostly have two options. First is to select the custom format and manually decide of which separator and columns you want to export, or the second option which is to select a specific destination and let Gestic give you the right format. |
The next step is to decide if you want to activate any specific option and where you want this export to go. Exports can also generate a new list (practical if you want to copy someone's list), or can go in the clipboard (practical to import into Arena). When you are done with that, just click on the export button and you will get all your data! |

As always, We Need Your Input! |
As always, We Need Your Input! Thank you for keeping the bug reports coming — this month's entire list came from things you flagged, and it made a real difference. If something still feels off anywhere on the site, please keep telling us; it's exactly how we decide what to fix next. We are also still on the lookout to add more local game stores to our network. If your favorite shop isn't on Gestic yet, please let us know so we can reach out to them. (You can always check the current list of onboarded stores on your configuration page). As always, our inbox is wide open for your ideas, suggestions, or questions. Don't hesitate to drop us a line! What’s Next? We don't have any firm commited timelines but the following features should appear soon on the website: - Play tester, to dryrun your decks and make sure they are performing well
- New cell phone scan experience. Same logic, same code, just a totally redesigned experience!
- Lists automations, to keep your “looking for” or “Offering” lists always up to date!
