Paws, People & Plymouth is the theme this week as we celebrate the community connections that make our town such a special place for pets and the people who love them. We're sharing festival highlights, an upcoming wiffle ball tournament, and a call for your favorite pet-friendly spots around town—all examples of how Plymouth continues to show up for local pets and pet owners. |

Hometown Hound Festival Highlights The first-ever America's Hometown Hound Festival was a huge success and a wonderful day celebrating pets and the people who love them. A huge thank you to Just Around the Corner, Inc., Pamela Ranheim, Ellen Duff, and their incredible team for organizing and hosting this event. We were honored when Pam presented Helping Hands with a check for $1,300, generously donating all festival vendor fees to support our mission of helping pets and pet owners in need. Just Around the Corner has supported us for several years, and we are incredibly grateful for their continued partnership. A special thank you also goes to Lindsay Danielle Hirt, The Hometown Vet Tech, who generously donated all proceeds from the veterinary technician services she provided during the festival to Helping Hands. And congratulations to Honey Bear, who was crowned the new America's Hometown Hound! Thank you to everyone who attended, volunteered, donated, or stopped by our table to say hello. Community events like this are a great reminder of how much Plymouth cares about its pets. |

Tell us about your favorite pet-friendly local spots! Is there a hidden walking trail your dog loves? A restaurant patio that always welcomes four-legged guests? A favorite beach, shop, or outdoor destination? Send us your suggestions and photos—we’d love to feature them in an upcoming newsletter! For The Pet Dads This Father's Day With Father's Day this weekend, we wanted to give a shout-out to all the pet dads out there—and share a story that reminds us why the work we do matters. Just recently, we helped a local pet owner when his beloved dog, Charlie, developed a suspicious growth that needed to be examined and biopsied. For many pet owners, situations like this come out of nowhere, and the cost of diagnostics and treatment can be overwhelming—especially when all someone wants is to do the right thing for their pet. Charlie's owner called feeling overwhelmed, unsure how he would manage the unexpected cost, and focused only on making sure Charlie had every chance to be healthy and comfortable. Helping Hands was able to assist with the veterinary expenses, allowing Charlie to get the care he needed without delay. The good news came back that the growth was benign. A few days later, we received a note. The note simply said: "Thank you for helping me keep my best friend by my side." Stories like that are why we do what we do. This Father’s Day, if you’re thinking about someone special in your life—or a pet dad who always puts their best friend first—consider honoring them by helping another pet owner in need. A gift to Plymouth Helping Hands for Animals helps make sure more pets like Charlie can get the care they need when it matters most. Happy Father’s Day from all of us at Plymouth Helping Hands for Animals! |
