FAQ
—
The things you might be wondering

How does this work exactly?
There’s no permanent collection and no endless stock room.
I create pieces in limited editions, list them when they’re ready, and once they’re gone, they’re usually gone.
Why don’t you list everything at once?
Because everything is made by hand, and clay has its own timing.
Glazing, firing, finishing — none of it likes to be rushed. Neither do I.
Do you restock the same pieces?
Not really.
I don’t make exact duplicates. Sometimes an idea returns in a different form — a new colour, a new shape, a fresh interpretation — but every piece remains unique.
What makes each piece special?
Honestly?
The fact that I’ll never make it exactly the same way again.
Will my item look exactly like the photo?
Each piece is handmade, hand-painted, and slightly unique — that’s the whole point, really.
I do my best to photograph every item as accurately as possible, but small variations in colour, shape, finish, or brushstroke are part of the process, and part of the charm.
Most collectors say their piece looks even better in person — and honestly, that’s the best compliment I could ask for.
How do I know when something new is coming?
The newsletter is the best place to know first.
That’s where I share upcoming collections, studio notes, countdowns, and the occasional “something is about to happen” warning.
Instagram Stories usually follow along too, with previews, glazing days, and glimpses from the studio.
Is there a secret list I can join?
Yes — sort of.
It’s the newsletter.
That’s where the earliest hints, first looks, and collection announcements usually go.
Not very secret, but definitely the closest thing to a side door.
How often are there updates?
Roughly every couple of weeks — sometimes smaller things in between.
It’s not a calendar, it’s a rhythm.
Can I pre-order something I saw on Instagram?
Usually, no.
I like keeping things spontaneous, and I want everyone to have a fair chance when new pieces land.
I saw something on Instagram. Can I still buy it?
Maybe.
Some pieces are already gone, some are waiting for a future release, and some return in a reimagined form.
Feel free to ask, but the newsletter and shop updates are always the best place to see what’s currently available.
Can I visit the studio?
Not as a regular shop.
Urban Pottery is a working studio, and most pieces are released online through Etsy.
Every now and then I open the doors for visits, special events, or collection previews — usually announced through the newsletter first.
What if I miss a drop?
It happens.
But that’s part of the rhythm.
Another collection always comes around — with new colours, new ideas, and something else to fall in love with.
Do you ship worldwide?
Yes.
I ship to many places around the world, and I’m always happy when a piece travels somewhere new.
Customs duties, import taxes, and handling fees may apply depending on your country’s regulations and are the responsibility of the buyer.
I’ll always do my best to keep everything carefully packed, clearly documented, and safely on its way.
Will I have to pay any customs fees or tariffs upon delivery?
International buyers are responsible for any customs duties, import taxes, or collection fees that may be assessed by their local government or carrier upon delivery.
Will I receive tracking?
Yes, always.
Every order ships with tracked delivery, and you’ll receive a tracking link as soon as your parcel is on its way.
What if something arrives damaged?
I pack every piece with great care, but ceramics are still ceramics and shipping can occasionally be unpredictable.
If something arrives damaged, please send me photos of both the piece and the packaging as soon as possible, and I’ll make it right.
Do you accept returns?
Because most pieces are handmade and one of a kind, I generally don’t accept returns.
If there’s a problem with your order, though, please get in touch. I’m always happy to find a fair solution.
Any tips?
Yes.
Follow the countdown.
Life’s sweeter that way. ✨
