poltrona frau: OBJECTS OF CRAFT Curated by c'est ici |
Our collaboration with Poltrona Frau is rooted in a shared appreciation for enduring design—pieces shaped by exceptional craftsmanship, material integrity, and a deep understanding of how people live. This season, we've selected a few of our favourite designs that perfectly capture the spirit of summer through timeless elegance, effortless comfort, and beautifully considered details. |
The Kyoto Small Table by Gianfranco Frattini is a lesson in simplicity done exceptionally well. Nothing feels excessive; every line and proportion has been carefully refined until only the essential remains. The warmth of its materials and the precision of its craftsmanship allow it to quietly anchor a room, offering a timeless presence that feels just as relevant today as when it was first designed. There's something wonderfully expressive about Ming's Heart Armchair by Shi-Chieh Lu. Inspired by the elegance of traditional Chinese furniture, its sculptural timber frame gently wraps around the upholstered seat, giving the impression that the chair has been carved from a single flowing gesture. The craftsmanship is evident from every angle, yet it never feels decorative for the sake of it. Instead, every curve has a purpose, balancing visual lightness with remarkable comfort. |
The Squash Armchair by Faye Toogood offers an entirely different expression of comfort. Soft, rounded volumes replace rigid lines, giving the piece an inviting, almost cloud-like character. Its generous proportions encourage you to sink in and stay awhile, yet the silhouette remains distinctly sculptural. It's playful without being loud, bold without overpowering the room—a beautiful reflection of Toogood's unmistakable design language. |
No interior feels complete without thoughtful lighting, and the Di Suspension Lamp by Neri & Hu is one of those rare pieces that transforms a space long before the sun goes down. Inspired by architectural forms, its clean geometry and delicate balance give it an understated sculptural quality. Once illuminated, it casts a warm, diffused glow that softens the room and creates an atmosphere that feels intimate, calm, and effortlessly refined. |
Together, these are the pieces we've found ourselves returning to time and again—not because they follow trends, but because they embody everything we admire about thoughtful design: craftsmanship that can be seen and felt, materials that become more beautiful with age, and timeless forms that feel at home in every season. |

SUMMER PICKS A C'EST ICI MOODBOARD |
This season, we find inspiration in the effortless beauty of coastal living and the quiet luxury of natural materials. A palette of sun-washed neutrals, soft greens, weathered woods, and textured stone creates a sense of calm that feels both timeless and contemporary. From Mediterranean architecture and serene beach clubs to tactile linens, oak, travertine, and handcrafted finishes, each element reflects a slower, more intentional way of living. The result is a collection of colours, textures, and materials that celebrate light, simplicity, and a deep connection to nature. A mood defined by relaxed elegance, where every detail feels natural, refined, and designed to be enjoyed. |

ARCHITECTURE WONDER OF THE MONTH Where heritage architecture meets contemporary restraint. |
This month, we turn our attention to a remarkable residence in Casablanca, thoughtfully reimagined by interior designer Dina Sebti. Originally built in the 1960s and later restored by architect Jacqueline Alluchon, founder of Casamémoire, the home stands as a compelling example of how thoughtful design can honour the past while embracing the future. |
Rather than reinventing the house, the intervention celebrates its original spirit. Existing architectural elements, generous proportions, and the strong connection between indoor and outdoor living were carefully preserved, demonstrating that the most meaningful spaces often emerge when character is respected rather than erased. |
What resonates most is the project's relationship with nature. Gardens, terraces, and interior spaces flow effortlessly into one another, reinforcing the idea that architecture is at its most powerful when it works in harmony with its surroundings rather than against them. |
Equally inspiring is the project's approach to materiality. Natural stone, timber, handcrafted details, and tactile finishes have been layered throughout with intention and restraint, creating warmth and authenticity without overwhelming the architecture itself. Every material feels considered, contributing to an atmosphere that is both timeless and deeply rooted in place. |
Perhaps the greatest lesson lies in what the project chooses not to do. Through a carefully edited palette and subtle interventions, the architecture remains the focal point. It is a reminder that restraint can often be more impactful than excess, and that great design is not always about transformation, but about revealing the beauty that already exists. |

THE FINISHING TOUCH THE POWER OF STYLING |
As projects approach completion and the final furniture pieces arrive, there is one final layer that brings everything together: styling. |
While often perceived as the finishing touch, styling plays a much deeper role in the design process. It is where a space begins to tell a personal story. Through carefully selected accessories, greenery, books, objects, artwork, and meaningful belongings, a house gradually transforms into a home. |
At C'est ici, the intention is never to fill a room. Every object is chosen with purpose, creating moments of warmth, texture, and character that enhance the architecture and interior design. The most successful spaces feel curated, effortless, and deeply personal. |
In Antibes, surrounded by blue waters and a serene setting, the focus was on preserving the home's sense of calm. Soft artworks, sculptural vases, natural stems, and delicate decorative objects were introduced throughout the interiors, adding layers of softness and life that complemented the tranquil atmosphere. |
Rio offered an opportunity to celebrate the clients' personal collection of sentimental pieces. Objects collected over time found their place within the home, creating meaningful moments throughout the space. Decorative accessories, candleholders, artwork, and carefully curated objects brought an additional layer of personality, transforming the interiors into a true reflection of their owners. |
Vicarello is currently entering its final chapter. Furniture installation is nearing completion, and the curation process is underway. Accessories, greenery, and the clients' artwork are being thoughtfully integrated throughout the home, bringing together every element of the design. We look forward to revealing the finished result in an upcoming edition. |
At Nurai, every object was selected to support the overall design narrative. Textures, decorative pieces, and natural elements were layered throughout the interiors to create depth, softness, and visual interest. The result is a home where architecture, interiors, and curated details work together seamlessly. The most memorable homes are often defined by the details that cannot be drawn on a floor plan. It is through these carefully considered layers that a space gains soul, creating an environment that feels complete, lived in, and uniquely personal. |

THE ART OF WEAVING THE ENDURING BEAUTY OF NATURAL FIBERS |
As the warmer months arrive, interiors naturally lean towards lighter, softer materials that bring a sense of ease and connection to nature. This season, natural fibres continue to shape contemporary design—not simply as a seasonal trend, but as timeless elements that introduce texture, warmth, and authenticity into our homes. |
From rattan and wicker to cane, seagrass, raffia, jute, and woven linen, these materials celebrate craftsmanship and the beauty of organic imperfection. Each fibre carries its own unique character, adding depth and tactile richness while maintaining an effortless, understated elegance. Their neutral tones and handcrafted finishes create interiors that feel relaxed, layered, and inviting. |
Once associated primarily with outdoor living and coastal retreats, natural fibres have found their place in sophisticated contemporary interiors. Designers are incorporating woven materials through statement lighting, sculptural seating, handcrafted coffee and side tables, storage pieces, rugs, and decorative accessories, pairing them effortlessly with timber, natural stone, lime-wash walls, and soft linens. The result is a balanced composition that feels both refined and lived in. Beyond their aesthetic appeal, these materials reflect a growing appreciation for sustainability, artisanal techniques, and thoughtful design. Their lightweight appearance softens a space without overwhelming it, while their rich textures create visual interest that evolves beautifully with changing natural light throughout the day. |
Inspired by Mediterranean homes, tropical retreats, and quiet luxury interiors, natural fibres bring an unmistakable sense of calm and permanence. Whether introduced through a beautifully woven pendant, a handcrafted accent chair, a jute rug, or subtle decorative details, they offer a timeless way to add texture, celebrate craftsmanship, and create interiors that feel effortlessly connected to nature. |
THE OUTDOOR SETTING Where Summer Unfolds |
Some of the most memorable moments of the season take place beyond the walls of a home. Long lunches that extend into the evening, conversations carried by a gentle breeze, and quiet mornings spent surrounded by nature all remind us of the value of thoughtfully designed outdoor environments. Featuring our latest reveal RIO outdoor, with our KETTAL curated pieces. |
Today, terraces, gardens, and poolside settings have become integral parts of the home experience. They offer opportunities to gather, unwind, and connect with the surrounding landscape, creating spaces that feel as considered and inviting as any interior. The most successful outdoor environments are shaped by a careful balance of comfort, materiality, and atmosphere. Natural stone, textured fabrics, warm timbers, and handcrafted finishes bring a sense of authenticity that evolves beautifully with time and exposure to the elements. Lighting plays an equally important role, creating layers of warmth and extending the experience well beyond sunset. |
This season, we find inspiration in coastal retreats, Mediterranean beach clubs, and refined residential landscapes where indoor and outdoor living exist in harmony. Collections from brands such as Paola Lenti, Roda, Kettal, Tribu, and Gervasoni Outdoor continue to redefine exterior living through a combination of craftsmanship, comfort, and enduring design. Whether through a shaded terrace, a poolside lounge, or an intimate outdoor dining setting, the objective remains the same: creating places that invite people to slow down, gather, and enjoy the moments that matter most. |
After all, summer is often remembered not by the spaces we pass through, but by the ones that encourage us to stay a little longer. |
