The Belgrade Theatre’s summer programme, running throughout June and July, celebrates its commitment to community engagement, wellbeing, talent development and creative participation across Coventry and the wider region.
Through a range of performances, workshops and community-led projects, the programme highlights the Theatre’s role as both a cultural hub and a civic space, supporting people of all ages to engage with the arts and develop new skills.
The programme showcases the work of the Belgrade’s young people and emerging artists. Marooned, the Hubs Summer Sharing on 3 and 4 July, will see more than 50 young people present original performances inspired by the story of Jamaican freedom fighter Queen Nanny, while the Belgrade Ensemble will stage Mr Burns, a post-electric play on 10 and 11 July as the culmination of its flagship early-career training programme.
Rounding off the season, the annual See It First festival returns from 18–25 July, presenting new work in development alongside artist workshops and audience conversations. Alongside these events, the Belgrade continues its work with local schools through Big School, its long-running Year 6 transition programme, demonstrating the Theatre’s ongoing commitment to nurturing creativity, confidence and opportunity across the region.
