The Opening

002 is here.

Spring did what spring does — moved fast, left a few things behind, and somehow dropped us straight into August.

Four months since 001. Pool season is in full effect. Work has been moving. I’m still shooting film whenever I can — mostly for myself, which is probably why I’m enjoying it again.

The routines I mentioned in 001 stuck. Turns out I like routine. Took me long enough.

Here’s what the last few months looked like.

Since We Last Spoke
Vegas has a way of putting you in places you didn’t expect.

I was at Allegiant Stadium for Canelo–Crawford, with full access to the floor. I had film. So I shot a few.

That has become a pattern. The work gets me somewhere. Film gives me a reason to slow down and actually look around and make a memory.

The last few months have also included flash floods, weddings, desert roads, a rainbow, and more rolls of film.

A fairly accurate summary of the year, honestly.

The Work
supplementsMERAB / UFC × THORNE

Merab Dvalishvili.

Former UFC bantamweight champion. Three successful title defenses in 2025. They call him “The Machine.”
Accurate.

This was my first shoot with the UFC, in collaboration with Thorne suplliments. I’ve wanted to work with the UFC for a long time, so this one mattered.

Not because it checks a box. Because it feels like the beginning of a relationship I’d genuinely like to keep building and I'm a Huge Fan.

More of this, please.

SHARK

Then there’s Shark.

Less punching. More cleaning.

I’ve been working with them across a range of appliances and products — lifestyle advertising with the product still doing its job. Some of the nicest folks to work with, thank you.

I don’t show much of this side of my work on the website. That’s changing. I’m building a dedicated advertising section so these projects finally have a proper home.

Apparently photographers are also responsible for updating their own websites.

Poor planning.

THE SPORT PAGE

Last time I showed you the larger website.

Since we’re talking about Merab, this time you get the Sport page.

A mix of athletes, movement, portraits, and a lot of people who are considerably better at cardio than I am.

Burns Canyon Spice Co / Vaquero
On a completely unrelated note — I also make hot sauce.

Burns Canyon Spice Co. started in the high desert outside Pioneertown, California, on Burns Canyon Road, where I lived for five years.

Vaquero is the chile morita sauce that came out of it. Smoky, savory, and made for people who enjoy food but don’t need to overthink it.

Bold flavor for food that needs backbone.

Put it on eggs, tacos, steak, vegetables, or whatever you’re eating when no one is watching.

Rebel
And then there’s Rebel.

She’s six. My shadow, my constant, and a familiar face on more sets than I can count.

If you see me, she’s probably nearby. If you know, you know.

I don’t have a strategic reason to include her here.

Good.

This newsletter is supposed to be about the things that make up my life. She’s a large part of it.

The Close
That’s 002.

Summer is here. The desert light in Vegas is doing what desert light does.

More soon.

If you want to make something together, talk photography, or try the hot sauce — you know where to find me.

Let’s connect, collaborate, or grab lunch.
