Ensure you begin your URochester journey at your healthiest and happiest by taking care of the following tasks and reviewing the many health and wellness resources that the University has to offer:

Register for UHSConnectThis secure web portal gives you easy access to your University health records and allows you to securely message your healthcare team on campus. This portal is also where you'll submit your required health forms (see next bullet), so make sure you set up your account before those forms are due on Friday, July 31

❑ Complete your required health forms. All incoming first-year, transfer, and exchange students are required to complete the Health History & Immunization and Allergy & Medication Forms through UHSConnect by Friday, July 31.

❑ Enroll in the student health insurance plan (or waive coverage). If you haven't done so already, make sure to complete the online student health insurance process, where you'll either enroll in the student health insurance plan or waive enrollment, provided you already have health insurance coverage outside of the University. Rememberif you do not waive the University's student health insurance plan by Wednesday, July 8, your student account will automatically be charged for the plan in your first tuition bill.

❑ Watch the Rochester Ready webinar recording on health and wellness. This required recording covers primary care and mental health services on campus, as well as the health requirements for incoming students and the UR Student Health Insurance Plan.

It's time! If you're a first-year or exchange student, your 2026-27 housing assignment was sent to your URochester email address on Monday, July 6.

This email included a link to instructions to sign up for your move-in time slot on either Monday, August 24 or Tuesday, August 25. Move-in time slots are available on a first-come, first-served basis, so make sure to secure your spot soon!

You have until Saturday, August 1 to finalize your move-in time slot. If you have any questions or need assistance with securing a move-in time slot, email housing@reslife.rochester.edu. Arrival day details—including required check-in steps, move-in instructions, and parking—will be available on our Fall Arrival Days page soon.

A few notes:
  • If you are arriving from a location outside of the U.S., Residential Life has pre-assigned you to a move-in time slot on Monday, August 24 to make international travel easier. If you would like to select a different time on Monday, you can do so following the sign-up instructions in your housing assignment email.
  • Incoming transfer students: Your housing assignment will be emailed to you when space becomes available, beginning in mid-July.
  • FOOT participants: If you have received confirmation that you've received a spot in the First-Year Orientation Outing Treks program, you will move in on Saturday, August 22 and do not need to sign up for a move-in time using the process outlined above.
