Happy Thursday! This week's newsletter is about the U.S. Supreme Court, needed political action, and PRIZES!
1. The Supreme Court of the United States (aka “SCOTUS”) has done a lot in the last seven days. Feminist and stillwerise's IG post beaks down each of these recent decisions:

2. Tuesday (6/30/26), SCOTUS rolled back "longstanding limits on the amount of money political parties can spend in coordination with individual candidates for federal office -- a ruling that could unleash a wave of new spending before the midterms.” (ABC)

6. Statewide ballot initiatives are allowed in 26 states. Some states have ballot measures on their primary election ballots and their general election ballots. Below are critical measures on upcoming ballots in Missouri and Women Who Heal's positions:
  1. August Ballot:
    1. Yes on Amendment 1 - Renews an amazing sales tax MO's had since 1984 for soil, water, and state parks! (How can a sales tax be “amazing”? Because it's nationally celebrated!)
    2. No on Amendment 4 - “Amendment 4 represents the most aggressive attempt to overhaul the initiative petition process in modern history, according to political experts who say the change would wrestle back control of statewide policy into the hands of the Republican-controlled Missouri General Assembly.” (KC Star)
    3. No on Amendment 5 - Eliminates income tax and allows for increased sales and use taxes. Learn more from United We Stand MO and see their graphic below. Also read MO Budget Project's analysis of Amendment 5 here.

       2. November Ballot:
                1. No on Amendment 3 - Bans abortion, overturning the voters’ decision to                           protect abortion just two years ago.
                2. Yes on anticipated Amendment 6 - Respect MO Voters expects their measure                 from initiative petition signatures to get the designation of Amendment 6. It                       will add protections to decrease the Missouri Legislature's ability to overturn                       voter-approved ballot measures!
