New Hampshire Real Estate Market
Summer vacationers often become home shoppers—especially in NH’s Lakes Region and White Mountains, and who could blame them? There's so much to love about this amazing state- from the lakes, to the mountains, to the coastline and the great north woods, there's something for everyone.
New Hampshire’s real estate market stayed active through August, with home prices continuing to reflect strong demand across the state. The market is showing signs of becoming more balanced as buyers have more choices than they did in recent years, but well-priced homes in desirable locations are still attracting plenty of attention.
Overall, today’s market is creating opportunities for both buyers and sellers. Buyers are benefiting from improved inventory and a little more time to make decisions, while sellers continue to see strong home values—especially when their homes are priced and presented well. As we head into the fall market, preparation and realistic pricing will remain key to a successful transaction.
Seasonal Homeowner Tips- As Summer Winds Down
As fall approaches, homeowners will want to get ahead of snow, ice, freezing temperatures, and winter moisture.
- Keep water out – check gutters to make sure water is flowing freely, check condition of roof, check that any drainage is flowing away from foundation.
- Heating system service- don’t forget to schedule the annual maintenance for your heating system. If you have a woodstove or fireplace, have the chimney inspected as well.
- Protect exterior plumbing- disconnect garden hoses, shut off exterior water supplies, drain exposed lines to reduce the risk of frozen pipes.
- Inspect trees around the house- look for dead, damaged, or weaked branches, especially any hanging over the roof, driveway, or power lines.
- Stock up before the first storm! Grab all of your necessities well before a storm hits.
Dog Days of Summer and Early Fall Safety Tip
Summer is winding down, but you’re still getting outside with your dog- continue to be cautious of rising temperatures, even though the mornings are considerably cooler. Watch for signs of heat stress- including excessive panting, drooling, lethargy, weakness, vomiting, bright red gums, or disorientation.
Be aware of blue-green algae/cyanobacteria- these harmful blooms can be extremely dangerous, even fatal to dogs. Don’t let your dog swim in or drink suspicious water, and always rinse them off with fresh water after swimming- dogs can lick their coat, and ingest whatever was left behind from their swimming adventure.
This bacteria is an issue every year across the state, so learn how to identify and avoid this algae for yourself, and your dog. I'm always looking for new places to bring my dogs swimming, and am constantly checking the map at the link below- it's been a valuable resource each summer!

Meet Tuukka: New Hampshire’s First Home Review Dog
Tuukka has officially accepted the position of Chief Canine Home Inspector.
As we tour properties throughout New Hampshire, Tuukka and I will be sharing what makes a home great- not just for people, but for their dogs. I know from my own house hunting experience that I prioritize comfort and ease in a multi-dog household- and I search for properties accordingly, looking at each through the lens of a dog owner, not solely as a homeowner or realtor.
Reviews will include ratings such as:
- Yard quality score
- Neighborhood walkability/Trail access nearby
- Swimming opportunities
- Fence friendly layouts
I'll be announcing my new YouTube channel very soon- Yes I’m late to the YouTube game, but that just means I’ll have to catch up! I’ll be posting Tuukka’s Take Home Reviews, as well as training tips, seasonal tips for your home and your dog, and beyond!
