This July, every donation is doubled thanks to the Towhill Foundationâs $7,500 matching campaign. Every $317 fixes two cats instead of one â helping families, colony caregivers, and community cats across Surrey.

đ Community Story: Colette & Her Garage Family

When Coletteâs husband started feeding a couple of stray cats, it felt like a small act of kindness. After he passed, she discovered something she never expected. Those âcouple of straysâ had grown into a whole little community, about twenty cats living in her garage and relying on the care he had quietly been giving them.
Colette stepped in because love leaves you no other choice.
Surrey Cats came along side Colette. For two years, Therese with Surrey Cats came again and again, trapping each cat, getting them fixed, and bringing them safely back home. Colette says âTherese is awesome, and her dedication made a huge difference during a time when everything felt overwhelming.â

Janet brings food donations that keep everyone fed. Colette says she simply could not support the cats without that help. The pantry food is what allows her to care for every hungry face that shows up.
With Surrey Cats support, many kittens have gone to loving homes, and the adults have been fixed so they can live safely without more litters. New cats still get dumped or wander in, but now they find someone who cares and a community that stands behind her.

Today, Coletteâs garage is more than a shelter. It is a place shaped by grief, kindness, and everyday love. The cats helped her heal, and she helps them survive. Surrey Cats is honoured to be part of her story.
