I hope this email finds you enjoying the long days of the summer!

 

July 1st marks the official start of the new school year for the administrative staff.  Anticipation is building as we prepare for your family’s return to campus in August.

 

This email is the first of four Summer Updates highlighting exciting news and changes for the 2026-2027 school year. In the coming weeks, we’ll share updates on staffing, campus improvements, and back-to-school logistics.

 

 

We're gearing up for another great year of Athletics at The Rock, and wanted to get you caught up on a few important updates before the fall season kicks off.

Exciting news: we've been accepted and approved into the FHSAA (Florida High School Athletic Association)! This means our student-athletes can now move forward with sports physicals and required courses.

 

The FHSAA requires a physical and an ECG for all student-athletes, except those with a religious or medical exemption. Parents can go ahead and get these done now with a physician of your choice, ahead of the fall semester. The portal for uploading this documentation isn't open yet – we'll let you know as soon as we have access.

 

The FHSAA also requires all participants at all levels to complete five mandatory NFHS courses annually. These must be completed prior to the first practice. You can find more information on this at therockathletics.school/clearance.

 

We're still waiting on the SSAA (Sunshine State Athletic Association) decision, but hope to hear any day now.

We've launched a brand new athletics website: therockathletics.school. You'll find team calendars, rosters, tryout and season information, and our new Spirit Shop all in one place. Bookmark it!

Starting this year, we're using BAND App to keep coaches, players, and parents connected. Here's how it breaks down:

We'll be setting up a BAND group for each sport and team, so watch for an invite specific to your student's team. Students aren't required to join their team's group. It's totally fine if just a parent joins to stay in the loop.

If your student wants to try out for Volleyball or Middle School Soccer, head to the Athletics Clearance page on our new athletics website for everything you need to get ready.

 

A few key dates:

Parents can go ahead and get started on forms and required videos now. Document uploads will have to wait until Home Campus access opens later in July. All paperwork must be turned in before the first day of tryouts.

For our elementary families, flag football through the Oak Hall Sports League will be our fall option. It's co-ed, and registration details will come out in August.
