If there is one thing I’ve learned this past month, it’s this: showing up matters.  Whether it was at our National Leadership Conference, walking the halls of Congress during Hill Day, or marking four years since Dobbs, I was reminded that progress isn’t powered by perfection, it’s powered by people who keep showing up.  Showing up for patients, Showing up for colleagues. Showing up for communities. Showing up when the work is hard and the headlines are discouraging.  As physicians and trainees, you know that healing doesn’t happen in a single visit. Advocacy doesn’t happen in a single meeting, either. It’s the steady, persistent work of writing one more letter, making one more call, mentoring one more student, and speaking up one more time for what is right.  At Doctors for America (DFA), we believe patient care doesn’t end at the exam room door. We believe that all policy is health policy, and every one of us has a role to play in shaping a healthier, more equitable future.  So thank you for showing up.  Your patients need it, and our communities deserve it. When physicians show up for patients, good things happen. And when thousands of us show up together? That’s how we make good trouble!  |
