IS LA HEALING?
This summer, LA feels alive again.

The World Cup is embracing the city, rooftops are becoming cinemas, cafés are turning into galleries and neighborhoods are hosting families, artists, residents, and cultural communities in ways that feel more intentional, more local, and more alive.

Maybe LA isn’t “back” in the old sense.

Maybe it’s healing through the places that bring people together.

Below are a few of the spaces, programs, and activations we’ve been building across the city.

RECENT HIGHLIGHTS

Antonio Diaz at Civil Coffee DTLA

This summer, Art of Club opened LOVE THY CORPORATION, the first solo exhibition by Antonio Diaz at Civil Coffee DTLA.

Antonio has built an award-winning career in filmmaking. With LOVE THY CORPORATION, he expanded that lens into photography, presenting a body of work that felt personal, atmospheric, and deeply connected to the city.

The opening was warmly received by hospitality leaders, the greater Life & Thyme community, fans of Civil Coffee, artists, friends, and neighborhood guests.

For Art of Club, the show reflected what we believe about the Art Program: it takes a healthy mix of artist and venue — the artist needs a platform to express, and the venue can be the ultimate host.

The Grand by Gehry hosted residents for a curator-led tour of Haegue Yang: Star-Crossed Rendezvous at MOCA Grand Avenue.

Guided by Paula Kroll, Assistant Curator, the exhibition brings together two major installations by Haegue Yang, whose work creates immersive encounters with light, color, sound, and movement.

For residents of The Grand, the tour offered a journey through one of LA's anchor cultural institutions in the enlightening Grand Avenue Cultural District.

For Art of Club, this is the kind of programming we love to build: experiences that connect residents to place, art, architecture, and the creative every day life of the city.

Places & Spaces is Art of Club's series spotlighting the venues, districts, and cultural ecosystems across Los Angeles that shape how the city gathers, creates, and connects. Some features focus on an individual place. Others explore a broader community.
